Would you go to a wedding alone??

We recently got an invitation from one of FH's old friend, who he hasnt seen in about 4 years, and I was perfectly fine with going until I realized we were going to be out of town that weekend. I have national championships for my archery career that weekend, FH isn't competing but said he wanted to go to watch like he normally would. So I just assumed we weren't going to the wedding....well a little bit later he says jokingly, "I'll have to find another date". He plans on going to the wedding alone while I'm in Ohio at nationals. would you guys be mad at all in this situation? I know I personally would feel weird going to a wedding alone, for a person you haven't seen in 4 years. sorry just my little vent for the day

I have been to quite a few alone before. I did have friends that I knew. The last one I was only invited and not my FH!! It was more odd because I wasn't allowed to bring him b/c they wanted a smaller wedding and couldn't afford it. I met up with a girlfriend of mine who also couldn't bring her FH.

To make matters worse, my ex was there! His girlfriend came up to our table and said, "I heard my boyfriend's ex is here!" not knowing I was her. Ah, memories.

I wouldn't hesitate to go alone and wouldn't have any issues if my fiancee went alone in that situation. We each have lots of old friends we haven't seen in years, and yet when we get together at reunions and whatnot it's like no time at all had passed.

Yes If I knew other people there and my FH couldn't attend I would. It also depends whose wedding it is. I have been to weddings alone whilst single but most times I knew other people there. I wouldn't go to a wedding where I didn't know anyone else except the Birde or groom alone.
