If you had the budget/it was affordable enough, would you have or would you now hire a personal trainer to help you get fit for the wedding?

If you saw a personal trainer booth with a program directed at brides-to-be with real life success stories at a wedding show would you be offended, interested, or indifferent?

I have before- I liked how he pushed me more than I usually would myself (once he got to know me and realized how much I could do- it was a little slow in the beginning). I might again in the future if I had the money and the time. I am fairly experienced already so it's not that important to me to hire someone.

I am ACE certified. I never did anything with it, but I keep renewing it. I thought I would be able to get a part time job personal training when I had time off (mostly summer vacation- I am a teacher). I didn't try that hard to get a job, but it did seem like they only wanted to hire full time trainers- will you be working full time?

NASM is great though- good choice and good luck with the test!

I absolutely love my trainer. Before I got pregnant with my boys, I saw him 3 days a week. Once I became pregnant, he created a workout program for me that included yoga, walking and barre conditioning that would help maintain my muscle tone, but was not strenuous. After I had my boys (via C-section) he developed a cardio plan that allowed me to workout 2 weeks after they were born but not hurt myself. He made me wait until 3 months before he really hit me with my workout to get me back in shape. I now see him 4 - 5 days a week because I appreciate that he cares about my health.

I love my trainer! i do small groups training which is great, a lot of the time it ends up just being me and the trainer. I pay $39 a session and have beein doing it for 9 months now. i am probably going to continue with it after the wedding also. i need someone to give me a work out to do when i come in on my own. I have lost probably 20lbs with my trainer and the help of being on the correct meds.

If I had the time and money, yes. I would love to have that motivation but not just for the wedding. A bridal boot amp would be fun!

If I had the extra money for it, I might. I don't know how long I would stay (because I like doing my own thing too). But I know right now when I'm just struggling to start, it would be helpful to have someone to push me!

I worked with a personal trainer for a couple years to get in shape after a massive weight loss. I would definitely do it again before the wedding , if the price was affordable.

Thanks for all the support gals! It's nice to know that it will definitely be a skill that people want/need.

I would take clients on the nights and weekends to start and once I have enough signed up I would transition to full time. I would not be working at a big box gym. They charge for too much, the trainers don't earn enough of it, and they have a horrible reputation for hurting clients and not being properly trained. I would offer my services at personal homes and at my home (or apartments with gym). When I have enough clients I would open up my own place. I want to involve meal prep and nutrition (I have a culinary arts degree and years or nutrition training and of course would learn more) and as well as inspiration texts and workshops.

Yeah, I'm excited! Haha. Now to hit the books hardcore for a few months!!

I would like to hire one. It's the money that stops me. Like do I replace the washing machine or get a trainer. Smiley sad

I had a personal trainer a few years ago. I did see increases in my strength, but never a weight decrease because I was eating poorly. The good thing about the trainer is that he was in PT school, so he knew how to work with my shoulder and ankle injuries. I stopped the trainer because the cost of a trainer was turning out to be too much for me (I'm in NYC) and my schedule was getting crazy. I now use a Fitocracy coach because it focuses on both nutrition and fitness and because its significantly cheaper. I have lost 45 pounds because it focuses on both. Since its online, I can work around my own schedule. The first fitocracy coach I hired was for a bridal bootcamp and the coach was also a bride to be. She didn't work out for various reasons including long response times on her end. My new fitocracy coach is great though, but not focused on just brides to be. We have an online community with all of his clients where we are able to support each other, which has proven to be great.

    I would do it!!!

I am certified through NESTA. I worked at LA Fitness for a while, but the way they do things in NOT my style. I ended up making WAY more money independently training. Plus I was able to target a specific client demographic.

Sounds like you got a good plan!
