I don't understand why this is a question. I would hire anyone if they are qualified for the job and their price was affordable; to do otherwise would be sexist and hypocritical.
I is there a perception that male wedding coordinators are not as good as female wedding coordinators? Why do male wedding coordinators only make up 2% of the total wedding coordinators in the US?
Just because it's a female dominated field, that doesn't mean than men can't do it. The large majority of mechanics are male - does that mean that you wouldn't take your car to a female mechanic?
I'm not buying that argument; I want to know what the real perceptions are of male wedding coordinators, there has to be a reason there are so few in the industry.
Why would this matter? My wedding planner (and DOC) was a straight guy. I had no issues.

There may be few in the industry because there may be few straight males that want to do wedding planning. I want to think couples are not this close minded that they think someone's gender and/or sexual orientation determines talent.

BAHAHAHA. I love this so much 😂😂
OP... I honestly can’t believe this is a serious question. I’m a speech therapist - a field dominated by women. There were two males in my program. They took the same classes as me and passed the same state exam. Would you question their credentials? Or ask them “why are you doing this? You’re not a woman...” I’m sorry. Get with the times.
How do you even know he id straight? I hope you didn't ask him that. Also, to answer your question, why wouldn't I hire him if I liked his work? Your description gave us no reason not to.
