Would you put a wedding picture on your Christmas card?

Melanie, on May 4, 2017 at 10:33 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

My date is in July, I am thinking I want to use a Wedding picture for our Christmas card this year. Would that be overkill? Especially if we do a photo thank you card after the wedding? I am also considering using an engagement pic for the Christmas card, since we didn't use any on invitations or save the dates. Thoughts ?

I don't think is an overkill. Last year we received a Christmas card from a couple that got married, got a puppy, and got pregnant on the same year! What they did was to use pictures of all the three events. I thought it was very nice.

I got married last July... and (I'm thinking J.C. got one of our cards...) we used a wedding pic, a pic of our new house, a pic from our honeymoon, and a pic of our new puppy! (We didn't get pregnant so that wasn't on there ha!) and it's the biggest event of the year so you have every right to overkill your friends and family with beautiful photos!! Smiley smile)

We probably will since we'll likely be getting our pro pictures back around then. I'm excited. It'll be the first time we've ever sent out Christmas cards.

For sure! I've seen this many times. Why not get as much use out of those expensive photos as possible?

I'll use one for sure! I paid a ton of money for them--I sure want to get some use from them! Most of our friends have done this too and I love hanging them on our fridge..honestly they stay up way past Christmas because I hate to take down pictures. Not to mention our list to send cards to is only family and close friends.

I think it's fine. FH's cousin did this. However, the cousin's parents used wedding photos for theirs too. I probably shouldn't be judgy, but I definitely was disapointed that the parents only used a selction of photos from the wedding.

I know for a fact we will because our wedding and honeymoon is a month before Christmas so why not? In my mind it kills two birds with one stone not having to take a Christmas card photo.

Look at you thinking ahead! I think using a wedding photo is fine for your Christmas card.

From what I've seen, this seems very common; two separate couples who got married last year had a wedding photo on their cards at Christmas time (one wedding was in June, the other in September), and I thought both were appropriate.

    Hope that helps!

The year my sis and I got married my mother used our wedding pics as her Christmas card, I think this is pretty common

We did. And we got married the February before. I just made sure that it was one that was a more candid, up close shot of us.
