Would you rather... have a first look or wait until you walk down the aisle?

First look ❤

We’re doing a first look. I want to get as many as pictures as possible out of the way before the ceremony so that we can be around for cocktail hour.

We are going with a first look and I am so very excited about it

I'd rather wait. The reactions will be so much more genuine.

I would rather wait until walking down the aisle, my FH would rather do first look. We agreed on first look because that will save us from having to provide appetizers while the guests wait for us to finish pictures. I figured I am going to get the same reaction out of him either way. All I care about is the photographer catching his reaction to seeing me in my dress for the first time. So all of our pictures will be done before the ceremony.

I’d rather see his reaction while I walk down the isle. I like the idea of everyone seeing us see each other for the first time. I do want to do like a first touch type of thing, or just talk to him a little before the ceremony because I know he’s gonna he more nervous than me 😛

Walking down the aisle. I think we're gonna do a first touch while we read our letters to each other, though.

This is tough... I have seen so many first looks on social media and I absolutely love the reactions. I feel they are much more personal and if the groom wells up (which is what I anticipate my FH to do) he will do so confidently and won't try and hide his emotions from too many people watching him if we were to see each other from down the aisle.

However, I am a little old school so I don't really want him to see me before walking that aisle. I want it to be a surprise and emotional experience not only for us but for everyone present. My only worry is that it may feel rushed because the ceremony ensues soon after. Ahhhhh this is difficult.

Now that our day has come and gone, I think a first look would have worked out better than waiting to walk down the aisle. I think the first look would have been more intimate, than walking down the aisle. Honestly I was sort of side tracked trying to see who attended the wedding more so than focusing on the moment. Plus the picture of his expression didn't turn out great...

We was just going to wait until I walked down the aisle but with some encouragement from our photographer and family decided to do a 1st look

We're doing a first look so that we can get all the pictures out of the way and not waste so much time between the ceremony and reception.

We haven't really talked about that yet, but I want to do a first look to have that private moment between us when we first see each other on the day. It will also be good to get some of the photos done before the ceremony so we aren't absent for as long between ceremony and reception since they are in the same location outdoors. Also, I'll feel awkward with everyone watching us pose for pictures and also feel like we are neglecting our guests.

Walking down the aisle. I hate the whole first look thing. I want the moment to build all day until just before we say our vows.

We're not doing a first look. Personally, and this is just my opinion, I always found them to feel too artificial and contrived and that's not the vibe I want to have at all. I'd rather have it be more organic as I walk down the aisle. I understand why others like First Look, it's just not for me.

Walk down the aisle... although I love the idea of a first look! 😍 very intimate. Would totally do it myself but I’m just very traditional!
