Would you rather... have a guest show up wearing jeans or a white dress?

I think I'd rather have someone wear a white dress. I'm not so picky about that rule.

But if someone wore jeans, it would just rub me the wrong way. Can't really explain it.

I had both at my wedding. My cousin showed up in jeans and a polo (website noted cocktail/semi formal attire but okay) and my SIL wore her wedding dress.

Id rather the dress because jeans just seems like they didn't even try to put forth an effort. I'm not even allowed to wear jeans at work...like cmon!!

Also depends on what you mean by white dress. A sundress I wouldn’t care. A wedding gown would just be super strange but they would be the ones that looked rediculous, not me. Nice jeans still don’t bother me though

Probably jeans, and it will probably happen at our wedding since a lot of our extended families are from smaller, rural farm towns.

I don't think I'd care either way unless the dress was an actual wedding dress. That'd be ridiculous. Jeans don't bother me much since I grew up in a hick town and that counts as actual wedding attire there. As long as they're clean, no holes, and have a nice shirt to go with, I don't see an issue (sidenote, I do NOT show up in jeans to weddings, I do have some class! I'm just not bothered if someone else does).

Show up I a white dress. Everyone knows who the bride is and side eyes the guest in white.

Our wedding is super casual and on the beach - so I honestly wouldn't mind either lol.

My dress is champagne so if I had to choose, I'd rather someone come wearing a white sundress or something.

But what MrsBdeG said about her SIL showing up in her own wedding dress, rather than just the colors white, I'd be livid.

I'd rather someone wear a white dress. Just because a dress is white doesn't mean it's bridal. As long as they don't come in a wedding dress it's fine with me!

I'd rather them show up in white. One person wearing jeans just gives the whole wedding a trashy vibe in my opinion.

Jeans wouldn't bother me at all. People can dress jeans up a lot depending on their top/accessories. A white dress is too much like trying to steal the light from the bride and was a deliberate choice made.

A white dress. Nobody's going to confuse us...and I hate when I go somewhere that's supposed to be somewhat formal and people are wearing jeans. It's disrespectful and shows that you couldn't be bothered or feel like you're too cool to get dressed up.
