Would you rather... invite 30 guests or 300?

When it comes to the size of your celebration, would you rather keep things intimate or go all out with a big bash? Would you rather invite 30 or 300 guests? Photo by Palos Studio Next Question: Would you rather... change your date or change your venue?

Definitely 30. I don’t even know 300 people and I don’t do well with large crowds.

I would rather keep things intimate, I went by the 5 year rule as they say: Invite people that have been relevant in you life the past 5 years, and will still be relevant the next 5 yrs. This worked for me, The original count for my wedding was way over 200 people, ended up inviting 150.

Ugh 30. I wanted to only invite 30, a bit more intimate, but no, my FH has to have a huge family 😑. I literally only have 8 family members and only 1 best friend. So because he has so much family, we are having 75 guests.

We are at 40 guests(ish). I love the idea of it being small, more affordable (we have been together a few years, and we just finished building our house, literally from the ground up-- hubby to be is a contractor and we built everything, from pouring concrete to stud walls, rafters, the whole 9.) our two immediate families and people that were "musts" brought us to like 36. Big weddings are a BIG expense, and honestly, we are trying to do what we want, not what everyone else wants. Confession: I was married in my early 20s, 120 people, massive dinner, princess poof gown, bling, and you know what, it wasn't meaningful, if I had put as much thought and effort into making sure I married someone great as I did the ceremony, out of town guests, reception, gifts for massive bridal party--- I never would have married in the first place.

Being in the place I am now with my hubbs to be I have serious clarity on what I want, what we want for our day (really, Ry just wanted his chicken wing app bar lol and whatever makes me happy) Sometimes less is so much more! I have had more enjoyment scouting for milk glass vases at yard sales with my mom, little trips to hobby lobby and ordering the small things that I feel are romantic, easy and perfect than I ever did before with tons of money top vendors, nonsense things and STRESS!

300 - because there is no way we could ever get it down to 30, not with the size of both our families (between us, we have over 50 cousins). We've estimated we're probably going to be looking at about 200 for our guest list anyway, although we could easily probably make it 300, if we added people outside of our nearest and dearest.

If I could afford to throw an amazing wedding for 300 I definetly would!
