Have your wedding guests be sans makeup (no makeup whatsoever for any guests)

or

Sans footwear (every guest is going barefoot!)

The makeup point was brought up in a long discussion months ago. There were not many people accepting of that idea. Only an unusual group of people would go for that (out of a broad population). Doing an event outside of their normal lifestyles will not give good results. The idea is sort of out of the 60s hippies days.

If you just say that makeup and shoes are optional, that might still persuade some people to stay away (unless you are at the beach).

This is a carbon copy of the exact same discussion and posters felt that both were inappropriate for the couple to request/dictate of guests in any capacity.
Is there a specific reason why you want guests to do this instead of accepting them as they are and letting them stay comfortable how they are normally used to?

I'm not familiar with that post. I thought it was clear that this was just a hypothetical question lol. None of the options are particularly good imo.

Sorry! This was a hypothetical question lol. I personally don't plan on wearing any makeup but guests are fully welcome to!

It's full out inappropriate to dictate anything like that to your guests anyway.

That was how your question read to me. Would I rather have....

To me it read like you were planning a photo or something. We get this fairly often here.

Sure. no problem there. Your question just came on the heels of that earlier one. The one who posted that topic was quite persistent on having no makeup on guests.

We don't have any makeup policy lol. I personally won't be wearing any but I'm sure some guests will be! As long as everyone's comfortable I don't really see what all the fuss is about makeup. Everyone looks perfect without but they're feel to wear whatever.

If I had to choose sans make up by a billion. I don't want to be staring at toes and smelling smelly feet. I don't think I'd notice the make up thing. Lol
