Would You Sign a Prenup?

View Quoted Comment Just a heads up in some states feeling like you don't have a choice will invalidate the prenup, as they cannot be forced. In some cases a lawyer will ask about this and you may be rejected before signing. If you really don't want to sign one you can mention it to the lawyer.
Also as pointed out your feelings should be respected in a marriage, feeling like you don't have a choice doesn't sound like you're being respected.

He said 'we don't need it'. I explained to him it's just in case, but he insisted not to lol. I don't have any assets to protect so that's why I left the choice up to him.

If there's anything I would disagree with so much that I wouldn't sign a piece of paper about it, it's a stickler to the entire marriage.

Yes and we are. Marriage is a legal contract that is why we all register with our county/state for licenses et al. Legal contracts need guidelines. We both own properties. We both have debts and pensions and retirement plans. No one goes into a marriage with the intent of waking up years later in a divorce, yet somehow the divorce rate in the U.S. is between 40 to 50%. Divorces are expensive and lengthy. People change. Life happens. It's not a big deal and prenups also cover death of spouse and such other necessary and important realities.
