Would you wear gloves with your dress?

LC, on October 26, 2010 at 1:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

I think gloves look so femenine and sophisticated. I'm debating whether to wear a bolero or gloves with my dress. Help!!!

Should I also add crystal beads to the top so it's not soo simple? Just at the edge, on the bust line.

IMO that dress is FAR too modern and simple for a bolero or gloves! It is perfect as is.

Personally I love the gloves idea, I wouldn't do the bolero mainly because I think it may take away from the dress. That dress is gorgeous btw.

This dress is beautiful, i wouldn't wear gloves with it. I love gloves but i always feel that they're more appropriate with the ruffle dresses

I agree with Analy NO gloves or bolero required.

Let your guest look at the great dress and not your globes or bolero...

The lines are very clean, and the style is "of the moment". IMO gloves are very old fashioned. The two don't mix.

I concur with Analy. That dress doesn't need gloves. The model for my dress wore gloves but my arms are too short for one and the gloves would impeded my bling so I didn't do it.

Hmmm I love the dress but you can go either way I'd say you have to try it on with gloves maybe at the bridal shop ask them to let you borrow some to see if you like it. Personally I love how gloves look but Im not doing them myself but If you like it go for it

I have seen how gloves can look glam and chic.

It's just not my style because I'm much more casual.

I usually imagine gloves with a princessy tulle ballgown.

I'm not sure that I've seen gloves with a wedding gown recently. Maybe when I was a kid. Of course, it could be bringing back the retro thing......

No to the bolero, but I think opera-length gloves would look good (not short gloves). But, I would need to see a picture to give a definite answer. However, IMO, long gloves look best with elegant and simple styles like this dress. If a dress has too many details the gloves would make the look too busy.

I just had to Google Bolero ha ha and I agree to the NO'S but personally I LOVE wedding gloves. Mine do not have fingers it just has a hook that goes around the middle finger and they are the same material as the dress with lace and rhinestones something like the ones pictured below

I personally am not a fan of the gloves. . .I'd have to see it with the dress which btw is gorgeous! I don't think it needs beads either.

When I think of wedding gloves, I think of a classic ball gown. Your dress is very modern. I would do without, but if you like them, go with it. Afterall, it's your wedding.

Thanks guys! So NO GLOVES. Hahaha. I asked about the bolero because I don't know if the dress is too "open" on top. But I will have to ask and if that's the case, I will have to use something to cover up for the ceremony. I cannot wait to wear my dress! Its the only one that made me cry because I really felt it was "the one". Modern, elegant and simple. Smiley winking

I wouldn't wear gloves personally, but if you want to, go for it. It's your day Smiley smile

I love your dress as is and feel like if you wear gloves or a bolero then it would majorly be taking away from the dress!!

Well, I'm the worst person, because I LOVE gloves, but it'd really depend on the bolero/no bolero debate.

Some cute little leather retro gloves in a beautiful color would be amazing! are you doing a retro theme?

But unless your madonna or grace kelley I would leave the gloves out!

I like it just the way it is. I wouldn't do gloves or a the belaro. And as much as I love bling... I would also say no... the dress is simple and elagent just the way it is.
