Wrist Corsage Instead of Bouquet?

Fawn, on July 21, 2012 at 5:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

I am thinking of doing wrist corsages in lieu of bouquets. Our theme is a "white pumpkin" wedding with some halloween elements to it. Has anyone else done wrist corsages or are thinking of doing wrist corsages (for bride and bridesmaids). Here is the one I am thinking about (but with real flowers).

Those are really pretty! My only concern is what would you do with your hands as you're walking down the aisle? I would feel awkward without something to hold onto!

I've been contemplation this as well. I haven't done any work researching. I'm using only babys breath so it could work. The girls can hold their hands together while walking down the aisle and up front during the ceremony. I think it would look awesome with your theme! Good luck!!

It's interesting you brought this up Fawn. I am thinking of having my girls wear wrist corsages instead of bouquets (which will cost less) have possibly have them carry an evening hand clutch.

    Something similar to this:

Thanks, Ladies. I think they are really pretty too. I am going nontraditional this time around. My FH and I are doing a surprise walk down the aisle together and will be holding hands. I feel totally comfortable keeping the hand with the corsage to my side.

I love the look of those and think since you and FH are walking down together, you really don't need a bouquet.

Thats what I am doing for my jr BMs. I love the idea! And it definitely takes away from the floral budget!

Fawn, I love this idea. I am not having my father walk me down the aisle. I am going to speak with MyLo about this.

    Thanks Fawn!

@Sheldon, thanks! I like the idea of having the girls hold their hands together. I may have mine do the same if I decide not to have the groomsmen escort them.

@ MyLove&HisMrs. I really like the clutch idea too. The look is very elegant.

While I think those pictured are really pretty, I'm not personally a fan of wrist corsages period. They are just too "prom" to me. We even nixed corsages for the MOB/MOG and gave them very small bouquets to carry instead.

If you like them thats all that matters though. Whatever you choose will be beautiful

I'm doing this with my girls...they are very excited not to be carrying anything! And they are walking with a groomsman so it is a certain way they have to hold their hand while walking.

Since you'll be holding hands with FH, I think that will take the awkwardness out of it. Go for it Smiley smile

@ MrsO - true, they are not for everyone. One of the things that appealed to me was the "hands free" aspect. I personally don't like carrying a bouquet and I like the fact that I don't have to hand it over to some one to exchange the rings. Smiley smile

I think that is a lovely idea. I love your inspiration. I did wrist corsages for my wedding "helpers". They were one of my DIY projects.

The hands free aspect is perfect especially since you'll be walking with your FH. You're right that its also handy when it comes to the ring exchange.

    Hello,

I thought i'd drop by and offer a different kind of unique idea for your wedding that'll just set the right mood for you and for the whole event.

If you need help with a center piece flower, bouquet or a bouquet to walk down the isle in then let me know. I can offer a money rose bouquet that your family and friends will be blown away by when they see you walking hand in hand with a matching boutonniere for your husband to be. Or if you like, I can make individual roses that you may place as a center piece on your guest tables surrounded by whatever you wish. Please visit my page if you have a chance and send me a text at 702-482-2572 or send me an email with any kind of questions you may have at **************@*****.***

    Thanks,

Love the wrist corsages! I am having them for my girls as well, however, they will have bouquets for the ceremony and the corsages for the reception. We are going to use the bouquets during the ceremony as centerpieces at the head table.
