Writing on the bottom of shoes

Lesley, on October 27, 2018 at 11:54 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Okay ladies, I need help, and ASAP!

So I'm getting married next Saturday November 3rd, and I have a pair of flats that I'm going to wear.

I want my dad to write a message on one shoe and my fh to write a message on the other.

My problem is, how do I preserve the writing all night!? I'm going to be indoors and outdoors, and busting a move all night.

I was thinking clear nail polish, but I'm not sure!?

Any suggestions, or what have you ladies used?

If you don't want to do clear nail polish, you could check Etsy. I believe I saw something that may help you on there.

Mod podge would work better then clear nail polish, but I’m not sure it’ll hold up to dancing! Maybe put it on a different shoe this week for a test run

Clear spray paint possibly...but make sure you protect your actual shoe with plastic or newspaper first. Nail polish may not work as it may smudge the writing even if it is dried...if you go that route I'd do a test run first.

By preserving the writing i would be afraid you’d also ruin the tread of the shoe.

Maybe a sole protector sticker like this? It’s a little textured though (to prevent slipping), so it may help if they write with a thicker pen (not a super fine tip). https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071W5J75X/ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o1_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Britani has a great idea here! Mod podge might be a more durable option! Smiley heart Doing a test run on another pair is really smart, too.

That's a great DIY idea, Lesley! Have they told you what they'll write or will you not see until they write it on the day-of?
