Writing own vows

We both wrote our vows. I did a search for inspiration and formatting.

I included some vows that are typical standing by his side, being there when times are tough. I also included things that were funny vows I plan to do or included an inside joke. Just whatever you promise you will do for your future partner. It should come from the heart. I tried to keep mine under 2 minutes and told my future hubby to do the same. He likes to talk a lot. Lol.

I agree with everyone else. Don't wait until the last minute to write them. One article said to write them and re-read them in a week or two to make adjustments. I have done that twice and really have not made any changes. So I think that's the final draft.

Also, make sure to tell them you love them!!!

We wrote our own. The main thing I would suggest is not waiting until last minute. We keep all of the cards, letters etc that we have given each other over the years so we planned a vow night where after dinner, we got our memory box out and poured it in the middle of the floor. Reading back on all those special moments and thoughts was a huge help with getting ideas. I also found this article that gives some great tips.

We didn’t write our own but our Rev. had several wedding vow choices so I picked parts from each one.

We are writing our own vows. It was hard to start writing my vows but once I started writing them it wasn't too hard. If you are having trouble I would advise going online and looking at examples of other people's vows

So, my fiance and I are writing our own vows and I have tossed so many ideas around for myself (I'm just under a year away) and none of them have stuck. The best advice I got is speak from the heart. I think that's the best thing you can do in all honesty.

Maybe try starting with your favorite quote, or one that reminds you of your SO; then build from there with how it reminds you of them or the way they make you feel in relation to the quote, etc...
