WW Fit!!!

Bethie, on February 3, 2016 at 12:07 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 69

Hey ladies!!!

There are so many new posters and so many posts lately that I haven't seen one pop up, so I apologize if this is a double. How are you all doing with your weightloss/fitness!?

I started a DietBet for the month of January and was able to lose 4% of my body weight which is exciting! On January 30th, I started the Whole30 (don't crucify me). I'm on Day 5 and I honestly cannot believe I've made it this far. I'm so excited. It's probably the hardest plan I've ever followed. I had a 3-day headache from caffeine and sugar withdrawal but now I'm actually feeling great! I love that I can prep meals for the week and always have something healthy to grab. I don't ever feel hungry!

My dress still would not zip at my fitting this past weekend though so I'm having a corset installed in place of the zipper. I need dress insurance because the Whole30 is intended as a system reset, not weightloss, so I'm not expecting a drastic change there.

I also did a Diet Bet, but it ends on Sunday. As of this morning, I hit my 4% Smiley smile

In January, i upped my membership at Orange Theory from 8 classes/month to unlimited. As of February 1, I lost 6.5 lbs and 3 inches from my waist! I also logged into My Fitness Pal and held myself accountable and it has paid off.

I did have my first dress fitting last month and the seamstress took in the sides. I let her know i am averaging about a 2lb weight loss/week and we have another fitting scheduled next month. She said taking it in in the bust and waist will be easy and since my dress is a-line, the hip area won't show too much if I loose weight there.

Goals this month: Go to Orange Theory 5 days/week, drink more water and loose another 6lbs Smiley smile

    Edit: spelling is hard today

I've lost 13 pounds since January 2 - logging my calories on my fitness pal, tracking my steps on my Fitbit, working out 45 minutes a day, and eating very clean.

Like Bethie, the first 4 days sucked, but now it's day 33 and I've feel amazing (the amazing feeling started after day 4). I have tons of energy, sleep better, wake up better, etc.

Good luck with Whole30. I would think that it would be fantastic to really see how different foods effect your body when you reintroduce them. How long would you say it takes you to meal prep for the week? Are those just breakfasts and lunches or are you prepping dinners too? Just curious.

    What is a DietBet!?

I'm not trying to lose any weight, but I'd like to become more toned and just be more committed to exercising regularly. I've done pretty well over the last month! I work out at our gym here at work, take a Pilates class once a week and incorporate at-home work outs on our recumbent bike or doing a Jillian Michaels DVD. I'm proud of myself Smiley smile

I typically eat pretty well, but I've definitely been more mindful lately..especially after all the shit I ate over Christmas! I've learned that I have to let myself have LITTLE indulgences to avoid going overboard. I also make sure to bring my lunch every day.. it saves $$ and then I don't risk buying something unhealthy. I also have been meal planning and cooked a bunch of healthy meals and froze them.

Amanda Do you love OrangeTheory? One just opened near my office and I've been thinking about joining after my current gym membership runs out.

I am keeping on track with eating well and increasing my exercise. I lost 6 pounds last month which was great. I need to amp up my workouts this month and to do that I upped my membership at 9Round kickboxing to the 6 month membership and I am going a minimum of 4 times per week instead of 2-3 times. I also now have the energy and strength to go more than a couple of times per week.

Something else to work on for me this month is meal planning. I have been a bit lax on this, and have found myself a few times these last two weeks munching on things I should be avoiding.

Everyone is doing awesome! I've lost 5 lbs since January 5th. I have 7 more to go!

I'm back to marathon training, so that's helping! I ran a full one in November, so I took the majority of November and December off running more than 5 miles. I'm back up to 9 miles, and I'll be back to double digits in a week or two! Smiley smile

I really am hoping to be at my goal weight by my shower and first fitting in May. I don't want the stress leading up to the wedding!

    @E-Tex 13 pounds is awesome!

I have done dietbets before and I hate losing them so it really keeps me motivated. I just started another one on Feb 1.

This month I've been doing a home dvd workout program 5x a week and I have lost 5 lbs. I would like to lose another 5-10 before I go to my dress fitting. Besides the weight loss, I can feel a difference in my endurance. The first week I was barely making it through the workouts, now I can do the whole thing, not easily but I can do it.

Last month I wouldn't count as a complete waste. I lost a total 6 lbs. But 4 was from holiday weight, so really just 2. But you got to start somewhere. I'm not going to be too hard on myself this month since its my birthday (birthday party this weekend, and actual birthday and Valentine's Day the weekend after). I am running a 5k Saturday morning (25th year of life bucket list activity) so I've been running a lot, which I don't like due to my bad feet and big boobs. But it's something I said I was going to do so I am doing it. I've lost some motivation FH & I had it out (arguing) most of last week so it resulted in me no longer going to Napa in April for his friend's wedding (FH wanted to take the cheap route like his friends, I didn't think it was worth it and wanted to enjoy Napa, so the resolve was that I am just not going) and we also had a Punta Cana trip planned for his 30th birthday (two weeks after the Napa wedding, this trip was my biggest motivation) but since he wanted to be cheap with Napa (something I was looking forward to), I decided I wasn't going to blow thousands on a birthday trip for him two weeks later, so I canceled it. (probably was petty and overacting... long story... but he's worried about saving a few hundred when I am spending a few thousand on him... it made no sense to me). So I am still going to the gym and staying at 1200 calories a day, but I'm not so strict on my diet/choices and not thinking I need to lost X amount by X date anymore because I have 6 months to the wedding, and honestly in my dress only my arms will be seen so the Punta Cana trip was more motivational than the wedding.

I am OBSESSED. It's pretty expensive though. I was lucky and was able to get lower rates since i signed up before the grand opening. Also, I live in the suburbs and I've seen city locations be more expensive. I pay $139/month for unlimited. My friend who lives in Chicago pays $139/month for 8 classes! (he told me how much he pays and I kept my mouth shut...)

I go a minimum of 4 times a week, so my classes average about $8.68/class. I have been making my breakfasts and lunches, so the money I save there is my OTF money.....lol

@OtherBeth Smiley smile - I'd say it took me like 3 hours on Sunday or so, and that's being conservative. I prepped lunch, dinners and snacks. Breakfast for me is usually a sliced fuji apple with almond butter or some cashews. On the weekend, it's eggs!

I have a lot of gastrointestinal problems including issues with digestion, h pylori and GERD. So far, I have had less issues with my GERD and my digestion has really improved.

I'm documenting my Whole30 on MFP - my username is hellobethie if you want to follow along! Also, I'm starting another DietBet on the 6th. Fun!

@Caroline - DietBet is an app/website where you can join challenges to lose a percentage of your body weight. Most common is the 4% in a month but there are all different ones to join! you pay a certain amount to get in on it, if you hit 4% you are automatically a winner. Worst case scenario, you win your money back but the pot is split between all the winners so you can potentially get your money and then some! Smiley smile If you don't hit the 4%, you lose your money. It's quite the incentive to move your ass. Hahaha.

@Caroline, Diet Bet is a bet you make saying you can loose 4% of you body weight in 4 weeks. The bet I'm in was $20 to enter. Anyone who looses their 4% that is part of the challenge you're in, splits the pot. I found a small entry fee one in case I didn't hit my goal. I have seen some enteries that are as much as $100......

@Bethie, I am sure you will feel so much better after the month. I can't wait to get back to being able to do more cardio and HIIT and dieting again. I am only doing Barre right now. Only 7 more weeks until my little one is here. It can be hard to watch your body put on weight and change so drastically in such a short period of time.

@Caroline, Let me know if you do it. I love it and kind of use it as a jump start a couple of times a year. It is totally free and so easy to do.

As for reintroducing food, I have severely restricted sugar intake (as in, the only non-fruit sugar I regularly consume is cream for my one cup of coffee a day), and two days ago I ate two caramel/coconut Girl

Scout cookies and I felt like shit. I clearly have a low tolerance for sugar. The next day I felt so much better.

Also, my big consistency is starting the morning with a green smoothie in my nutribullet. That is the biggest motivator for me - seeing all the vitamins and minerals on MyFitnessPal.

I was totally stoked to hit 5lb loss last night. I don't weigh myself a lot, and usually go by measurements instead, so when I lost 2 inches from my waist measurement I had to get on the scale.

I'm trying to be good about logging my food in MFP (boomfizz if you want to be friends) and I'm always doing challenges w/ fitbit frands (incredibly motivating). It's helping me get back to my half marathon training schedule for sure (my last race in Jan was my 2nd worst finish time, so disappointed in myself). DH and I have started lifting together again as well, which makes him happy.

Good luck everyone w/ reaching your goals! You can do it!
