Hey ladies!!!

There are so many new posters and so many posts lately that I haven't seen one pop up, so I apologize if this is a double. How are you all doing with your weightloss/fitness!?

I started a DietBet for the month of January and was able to lose 4% of my body weight which is exciting! On January 30th, I started the Whole30 (don't crucify me). I'm on Day 5 and I honestly cannot believe I've made it this far. I'm so excited. It's probably the hardest plan I've ever followed. I had a 3-day headache from caffeine and sugar withdrawal but now I'm actually feeling great! I love that I can prep meals for the week and always have something healthy to grab. I don't ever feel hungry!

My dress still would not zip at my fitting this past weekend though so I'm having a corset installed in place of the zipper. I need dress insurance because the Whole30 is intended as a system reset, not weightloss, so I'm not expecting a drastic change there.

My wedding is just under 2 years away, and I want to lose 100 pounds. (That's only like 5 pounds a month, which isn't terrible!) January wasn't a great month for me because FH was recovering from surgery and my mom had a hip replacement surgery, so between taking care of them both, wedding stuff, rehearsals for the opera, work, and church I had 0 time, energy, or motivation to hit the gym. I know FH loves me for who I am (because I've gained about 25 lbs since we got together...yikes!), but I know I'll look and feel better on our big day without all this excess weight dragging me down.

I've never done a DietBet! And I keep reading WW as Weight Watchers, lol.

Caroline - it's super simple. (1) 2 handfuls of leafy greens (like spinach or kale), and (2) then fill the rest up with fruits and veggies - I like to pick and choose frozen berries, pears, bananas, avocado, cucumber, baby carrots, and broccoli slaw. (3) Then add a boost - flax seeds, chia seeds, Goji berries, or peanut butter. (4) Then cinnamon or fresh ginger. Finally, (5) a cup of almond milk and 1/2 cup of water. It's fun to mix the fruits and veggies to find yummy combos. I post pics of my smoothies often on Instagram - TexanLSU.

And I have a small hietal (spelling) hernia, which gives me heartburn. I've had heartburn once recently - and it might be because I had subway one day.

FH and I joined a gym this week. It's way too late for us to lose all the weight we want to before the wedding, but we're really doing it to be healthier. We just need to get the diet under control. That's definitely the hardest part for me, I like food way too much . I'm really considering signing up for the diet bet, a little extra incentive may help me to focus on eating right.

Now if only the pain from the Achilles tendonitis will go away. It had me almost in tears tonight just walking on the treadmill. Looks like the majority of my cardio for the next week or so will have to be on the bikes until this settles down.

@VM, You absolutely know more about diet and nutrition than I do, so I believe you when you say you do better without gluten. My denial is likely more hopeful than scientific. Haha. I was actually terrified that I'd get a stomach ache from eating a sandwich! (I didn't, thank the Lord!) We went to a deli that serves freshly baked breads and roasts all their meats. It was so good! I may have shed a happy tear.

I'm slowly getting back on track. I've been going to barre once a week for about 2 months now and going to the gym 1-2 mornings a week (usually 1 lol). I do make sure that I always meet my fitbit goal, so that helps. Right now its 11,500 steps.

You ladies have inspired me. I wasn't going to work out at all tomorrow, but now I'm going to hit the stationary bike when I get home from work.

I definitely need to get my eating together. Im going to start logging my food again tomorrow. I have about 7 months to lose 20lbs. I'd totally be down to do dietbet next month.

I'm doing a DietBet for Feb and prob another in March. I'm going to keep on a fitness plan and continue to eat heathy and aim for summer maintenence so I don't feel like I need to lose weight after May for September wedding. Not buying my dress until April or May. I know dress shops are all about like 6-8 months or something, but that seems crazy to me.
