A disney wedding would be cute but VERY expensive. But if that's not a problem for you, then go for it!

Like Yasmine said, Disney weddings are very cute in theory, but are extremely expensive. Not only for you, but for your guests as well.

If you're eloping, then you can go with whatever you want, but if you're having guests, it's always nice (and important) to consider them as well. Will all of your guests have to travel? Will they need to pay for travel expenses, food, lodging, etc. to attend? Just something to think about! Destinations weddings are def. fun, but can also be pricey not only for the couple, but the guests as well, so keep in mind that if you do a destination wedding some guests may not be able to attend due to finances! Smiley shame

Why? are plantations haunted with spiritual being from the past. If I did anything in Charleston it would be on the beach or close to it not sure really up near where to go my fiance has no input he said whatever pleases me

Keep in mind with a place like Disney that not only is it expensive as a venue, but also has the possibility of being expensive for your guests. Depending on how many days people stay, if people stay in the park, and if it’s full families or just adult couples, it could cost hundreds to thousands of dollars just for a weekend.

It was just a thought I have a small wedding would run about $8,000 in Disney but a larger wedding in Charleston cost me about about 8 to 10 thousand I haven't made up my mind where to go

I think weighing your options is a good idea. I also think a great thing to do when potentially planning a destination wedding is to make sure with any VIP guests (parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.) that they’ll be able to make a destination wedding work as a guest. We had friends have a destination wedding a few years ago and only 30 of their 90 invited guests attended and most that declined said it was too expensive to attend.

I mean, glamorizing a place that horrific crimes is not cute but that may just be my opinion.

You’re definitely not alone in that opinion. A place where people have been beaten, raped and enslaved doesn’t scream wedding to me for some reason

I agree with y'all that's why Charleston up to Myrtle Beach in down to Hilton Head for me would be a beach wedding

I was a bride that wanted a Disney wedding since before I met my husband. It was just too expensive (for our guest list/what I wanted. Yes smaller weddings are much more manageable cost wise). I wanted to be married more than I wanted a Disney wedding. So we got married locally. Not once the entire day was I sad or wish I was at Disney instead. A local wedding is just as special as a destination one.
That being said. If a Disney wedding is within your budget, Go For It!! Yes it is expensive for guests to travel to, but those flights to the Caribbean are expensive too (for other destination weddings). Also keep in mind that Disney tends to have a higher acceptance rate than other destination weddings. So if you invite more people hoping they decline since it’s a destination you might be disappointed.

From my experience as a guest, destination weddings tend to be very expensive to attend as a guest once you factor in time off work, accommodation, travel expenses and other ancillary costs.

If you decide on a destination wedding and have the budget to cover some of the costs of your guests (i.e. by covering meals or even transport from hotels to your wedding destination) your guests will really appreciate it.

My unfiltered opinion as a guest is that I hate destination weddings. The last thing I want to do is spend thousands of dollars and my entire holiday budget and PTO time at the destination of your choice, not mine. They are expensive and inconvenient for guests.

I have two problems my family is in Charleston and his family is in Orlando Florida so destination wedding would be one side or the other unless I have a happy medium and meeting in the middle some place in Georgia or even Jacksonville that way each would only drive about 3 hours what do you think

A happy medium would be doing it some place in the middle so that it could be fair. But you should know your guests more than any, if they don't mind traveling then have it wherever you want! Just keep in mind that destination weddings can be expensive since people have to travel, find accommodations, etc.
