Yay! Figured out the wording.

A while back I posted a small dilemma I was struggling with. Our venue is a private yacht club - they allow non-members to book large events such as weddings. We are providing beer and wine, but no mixed drinks. My problem is that there is a manned bar in the member's dining room. ONLY members can order drinks there, they charge it to their membership so there is no cash/charge capabilities. OUR guests will pass through this area several times. My concern was those who wanted a mixed drink would think they could purchase one there.

SO ... long story short, I just updated my wedding website and put this under the "The Facts and FAQ" section. I am really happy the way it now reads:

"Tell us about the FOOD!!

There will be delicious passed Hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour. At this time it is too early for us to choose our definite menu, but we will have a selection of a plated meal of a beef, chicken or seafood entrée. Check back for more details as the time gets nearer. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Due to the fact that this is a private club for members only, there is no additional bar available to purchase mixed drinks."

Just had to share with people who understand this feeling of relief. (FH, bless his heart, just said "ok, nice".) Smiley sexy

You worded it perfectly! I remember your original post and definitely feel like this was the way to handle it. The bar may still get a few questions, but hopefully you saved them more.

Thanks for the validation! Like many have said, it's hard to talk wedding talk to people who really just want to come and party LOLOL Like, the details don't mean a thing to them. I appreciate the comment.
