‘You can wear that bridesmaid dress again’

People say this all the time. How many have actually worn it again to any event?

    Never.

I think the British have the right idea about this with the couple paying for the wedding party attire. I wish that would be adopted in America.

I actually did! I was 15 when I was a bridesmaid for a relative and while I didn’t love the gown (strapless, floor length chiffon) because it was a lemon yellow, a shade that I wouldn’t pick for myself, I wore the dress to my high school formal (our equivalent of prom) 3 years later to avoid buying a new dress lol.

I have two bridesmaids dresses and in the 18 months I've had them, have not worn them again. My sister's bridesmaid dress is super cute and not too bridesmaid so I could imagine wearing it again, but she only got married in November and so there hasn't really been the opportunity. The other was not so much to my taste and very much more 'bridesmaidy'. I had it shortened to knee length so I could wear it again but I haven't. I'm not sure I would.

I paid for my bridesmaid's dresses, but I'm not expecting them to wear them ever again. My sister is a similar size to me, so if she doesn't think she'd wear it I might ask if she would mind if I take it, since I would definitely wear it, haha!

I absolutely would wear my last bridesmaid dress again but Iʻve had nothing to wear it too. Itʻs basic timeless strapless long chiffon in blush

I wore another bridesmaid dress (strapless tea length in sage) to formal easter events but have since donated it cuz itʻd been a few years since wearing it

I pretty much immediately donated all of the bridesmaids dresses I’ve worn.

I don’t know what my girls did with their dresses after, except one is a navy wife and wore hers again at a ball!

I work at a high school- if I wasn’t going out of town next weekend I would totally chaperone prom with FH and rock my MOH dress again! 🙌👗

Never ever. And yes my BFF had custom dresses made for us and happily told us we could wear them again. 🤨

    Never.

I actually just donated my collection of bridesmaid dresses to Goodwill this year when we moved to get them out of my closet.

Right?! I do not understand the "tradition" of making your bridal party pay for the honor of standing up in your wedding. (I paid for my BM dresses)

I did for one dress, but it was for a Halloween costume. Not sure if that counts 😂

My girls will, I'm 100% sure.
My best woman is wearing a skirt suit at our wedding, this is an outfit that she will definitely wear again at other events.
My groomswoman is wearing a "bridesmaid" dress but since we have an insanely large family with many younger cousins (read: many upcoming weddings), she has 1 billion friends and she loves soirées/events that call for formal/semi-formal outfits, she'll wear this dress again.

Nope. I sold it as soon as the wedding was over. Wearing a bridesmaid dress to another person’s wedding seems rude.
