*Update*

I apologize if anyone thought I was being rude or calling them old. I was just looking for people around my age to comment to see what they were feeling and what not. Thank you to all the people who did comment and were helpful!

If I would have married my "soulmate" at 18, I would have been divorced by 20. I barely resemble the person I was back then.

I look at some of the decisions I made when I was 18-21 and think "What the actual fuck what I doing?". I've done a lot of growing in 6 years lol.

I'm 23 and similarly to other girls here, I've been with my FH for a long time (7 years) and so it was understood by many friends and family we would be getting married young. Pretty much all positivity luckily! Wedding planning is going well. Happy I gave us a year and a half to plan since I'm trying to establish a career and work out life details in between!

I'm 22 but not getting married till 26 partly because of the comments on brain development from WW. I'm not the same person I was when I was 18 and I probably won't be the same when I'm 26 so if it was meant to be it will still be when we're both 26.

23! We have gotten nothing but support! Everyone and especially my mom are so insanely excited. Wedding planning has been so much fun and recently my sister threw a little engagement party! Smiley smile I will be just turned 25 when we get married which is the same as my parents when they got married!!

I kept going back and forth on if I should actually admit my age, but yeah. 21 here. We've had a few people ask why so soon, but all of our friends and family are excited for us.

I'm 20 and my fiancé is 21, we've been together since we were 15 and 16. Everyone was thrilled when I announced my engagement! The only comments I've been getting have been saying to have a long engagement, which I am anyways. Actually I've even gotten comments saying how great it is that I'm taking ahold of life so young. I think the weirdest part is being in university still and not having many people to relate to about my relationship

21 and a lot of people that don't know me or my fiancé would probably tell us we are crazy. Everyone that actually knows us are completely happy for us and agree that we're making the right decision. We've been together for 5 years so it's not like we rushed in. I don't like when people automatically assume that because I'm young my relationship will fail or that I'm just doing this on a whim. I am a very cautious person and have thought this through plenty of times, I understand that we both have more growing to do but I believe that it is possible to grow together. Good luck with planning Smiley smile

FH and I are 24, both will turn 25 3months after the wedding. We have a 3yr old daughter so it was known this day would be coming soon. We haven't had one negative reaction or comment towards us getting married. But we've also been living on our own together since I got pregnant and support ourselves and our daughter without any help.

@APD I see what you're saying, but I guess my thoughts are that if you're with the right person, you can still do those things. I spent a semester abroad, I'm still in college, and I'm looking at grad schools right now. My FH has been more than supportive of everything I want to do in life, even if it means being in separate states or even countries, and has even joined in on some of my traveling (and that's how he proposed as well). I'm still learning a lot about myself, and consider myself to be rather independent, but I'm still very much in love. I've definitely been blessed

Flanigan- No one is saying it will fail. We said your brain isn't fully developed and that the divorce rate is high. Those are facts. If you choose to ignore them then I would question your maturity.

What is the harm in waiting?

I'm 22 & will be married when I'm 23 . We've been engaged since we were 19 , but never got married because I was in college & he was in the US Army . . Next month will be 5 years since we've been together & we get those people (mostly his side) telling us we should wait . . Blah blah blah

Your comment comes off as really immature Diamin. I'm with your family on this.

@Sara, that's great! I'm glad that you have considered these things already! I feel the same way about a lot of things. Like I said in my other post, there are still a lot of things that I want to do still. Like you, I know my FH is going to be nothing but supportive and we will both work to make sure the other is happy. As long as you know your SO is going to be there encouraging you and helping you that is what really matters. From my experience, the guy I almost married would not have done any of that for me.
