This thread is just overflowing with the maturity of "young" brides.

I'm too old for this shit.

I guess I'm old as shit.

I will never understand why some children think that it's acceptable to get married. What's the harm in waiting? Definitely wait until after college.

I thought I would be able to contribute to this forum since I thought I'd be a young bride at 26... nope

Okay first of all, I'm 24 and glaringly different from my 18-year-old self.

I'm 30, so I'm technically an "old bride," I guess (although FH is 46, so we joke all the time about how young I am!). If I had married the person I was with between the ages 17-24 I would be miserable. We were together for 7 years and had started to talk about marriage, but I realized that I would have reservations saying "Yes" if he asked me, and that I definitely did not want him to be the father of my children. I met FH shortly thereafter, and probably we would have gotten married sooner if it hadn't been for his working overseas for 3 years. It's all worked out perfectly in the end, though.

My brother and SIL got married last year. They were both juniors in college. I'll be perfectly honest and say that I worry a lot about them. Learning to adult is hard.

24 here! (But will be 25 at time of the wedding) no negative comments and our families both very excited for us!

As someone who got married at 21, I agree with the majority. Wait a bit, travel, find yourself (mind you this a continuous process)

I am still married. We are celebrating our ten year vow renewal this year.

Kassandra, people have a sense of humor that is quite snarky on here.

What people don't have a tolerance for is treating this like an aol chat room from 97 with abbreviations/lack of punctuation and any sense of entitlement regarding other people funding a couples wedding.

Im a young bride im going to be 23 ! my wedding planning is going ok not the best! Im getting negative comments and good ones at the same time! Im excited but i got 2 years to go 2019 !

We got engaged at 21, will be married at 22. We will have been together almost seven years by then. We've gotten lots of happy comments and pretty much everyone in our lives was expecting it to happen sooner or later
