Young siblings.

Alexa, on January 9, 2021 at 9:11 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
Hello everyone! So I have a large family with some pretty young siblings. About 9 and 11 boy and girl. I’m not sure what to have them do On my wedding day. I don’t want them to stand up with us because we have a lot of people in our party. But I want to make them feel special. So this is my idea and tell me your advice or suggestions. I was going to have them walk down the isle together. Dressed up similar to the party but instead of standing with us they would just go sit with my parents. Is that just silly? Lol I’m not sure. Help!

I like it! We had a song prior to when the bridal party came down for grandparents, mothers, etc. this may work good as it still recognizes your siblings as a special family role.

Have them be a guest. People forget or ignore how much of an honor it is to be invited in the first place. Not everyone wants a job and most of them are assigned are not special or fun.

That's a cute way to include them. You could even have them throw petals when they walk down too! That's what my mom did when she got married. We didn't stand up at the front. Once me and my cousin tossed flowers we went and sat with my grandparents in the front row but when it came time for group pictures we got to join everyone.

Can they not be flower girl/ring bearer? I guess it depends if they’d want to do something like that. It’s a little on the older side but I was a flower girl at my dad’s wedding when I was 10. They thought I was too old for it so they didn’t ask me initially but I begged my stepmom to let me do it and I had so much fun lol

I think thats good idea to have them walk down the aisle, then just have them go to their seats. Like Gen mentioned, can they be a flower girl/ring bearer? If not, you can call them junior bridesmaid/groomsmen.
