Your engagement: Did you know it was coming?!

I was 100% surprised.

We have been together for over six years and talked about getting married many, many times.. but I had no idea it was coming when it did. I actually thought I had about another year to go before he asked!

We went to Boston & Cape Cod for a week long vacation and he surprised me at the very end of the trip. It was perfect!

Yes bc i had given up. (not ashamed its the truth). after our dating anniversary passed in Nov. I assumed he was going to wait until he passed the bar exam to propose although I knew he had purchased a ring already. My bday passed. graduation passed. i moved. came back. our dating anniversary came and NOTHING. I was like well looks like its going to be another year of waiting (you can see my excitement). And a month later he proposed.

Total shocker My dad and grandfather were there too and my Dad videoed it on his phone...I was speechless!

Sort of. He told me he'd have a birthday present for me by Saturday and my birthday was on Friday. I thought we might be stopping at a store I liked a ring at on my way to my parents' house, or that he was going to do it in front of my family. It came in the mail Thursday and he proposed Friday.

I was somewhat surprised. The thing that made kind of know it was going to happen was when he told me " This is going to be the best vacation you've ever had"

Sure enough one night after a wedding we attended he proposed. He had others plans but said he couldn't wait after being at the wedding. I'm sure a few drinks helped it happen sooner.

Totally knew, even though he thought i had no idea. we had talked in depth about it obviously, but i figured it would come around our anniversary, plus we had already booked the venue...

Yes and no. We'd just recently talked about it, and I knew he was looking at rings (that I had emailed him lol). I figured it was coming at the end of summer, after all vacations and plans were done. He ended up proposing within a week of us talking about it! So, the timing of the proposal was definitely a surprise!!

I was surprised, but I knew it was coming. The weekend of my birthday, we were at a club since my friend came into town and we just got wasted. Well he told me that he wanted to get me a ring for my birthday but he didn't have the money yet.

So like 2 month later, I was surprised. Only because I would randomly say something about marriage and he goes "yeah, but it might not even be with me." So it got me down. He even did that the week that he was going to propose. So I was shocked when it happened.

I had no idea, even after he said "Tonight is the night!" I was 8 months pregnant and thought he was making a comment about sex lol!

Kind of. I knew it was coming just not so soon. I was suspicious when he would go missing for hours on the weekends and make up some lame excuse like going to the grocery store. For four hours... no. I thought he was going to on NYE but he waited until midnight so I started thinking that it wasn't going to happen.

Yes. Saw the bring box sticking out of his pocket on the way to the winery lol

Yes, easily. I guessed he had gone to get a ring when he insisted he had to drive to Denver to "pick up chairs" and he "had to do it immediately" so I couldn't come, and he'd come back the same day. Never, ever in his life, has he ever thought chairs were worth an immediate 7 hour round trip drive. They'd have to be gold chairs.

Then, a week before my birthday, he kept saying he wanted to take me on a hike for my birthday, and he'd pick me up from work. He does NOT hike unless there is hunting/animal scouting involved.

I texted my best friend that morning and said "I'll let you know in 8 hours."

He thought he totally surprised me, and I didn't mean to ruin it, I just read him like a book.

Yes. I found the ring.

He'd been sending me links to rings, so I knew it was an idea in his head. Literally the day he did it, he told me that we'd be engaged within the year. Who knew within the year meant before you go to sleep tonight!

I knew it was coming in the next few months but the night of, I had NO clue. I thought he had the ring, but then he kept making these weird comments at dinner and totally threw me off and made me think he wasn't doing it anytime soon. I legit was texting my best friend during dinner (who was at my house setting it up for the proposal) that I didn't think he had the ring yet. LOL.

We were going on a camping trip with all our closest friends like 2 weeks later, I kind of thought he would do it there (which I mentioned to my best friend) so I think she told him NOT to do it then haha

Definitely not a surprise as technically I asked him. We'd been talking about getting married, where and when etc for a while, and very intensely for about a week. And had kind of come to the conclusion already that the best option was this summer in August, and then one night I just simply said 'So, do you want to marry me next summer at your parents' house?'. He said something along the line of 'I thought that's what we'd already agreed?'

And that was that. We went and picked a ring together a couple of days later and told everyone.

I knew he was going to do it eventually but the timing surprised me. My best friend was in on it so I had no idea he was going to propose until he did it.

Yes, we had talked about it two months earlier and then boom engaged since July.

The day after he picked up my ring, he got locked out of the house and jumped off the back porch to go around to the front. Except, when he jumped- he blew out his entire knee. I gathered his stuff and met him at the hospital when he asked me to call his boss. The first thing that popped up on his screen was a picture of a ring with a message to a friend saying that he'd picked it up the day before.

I was shocked. and then I had to wait SIX months for him to do enough physical therapy after surgery to be able to actually get down on one knee!

To this day, he still doesn't know I jknew. But man- every dinner out, every walk around the park, everything... i was prepared!! ha ha

I knew it was going to happen soon but I wasn't expecting it the day it did happen. Looking back on it he was acting strange so I should have realized it was about to happen lol.
