Your engagement: Did you know it was coming?!

Nope no idea. It was Christmas Eve(I LOVE XMAS time)and she mentioned she wanted to go to church so I got dressed up and left to get a couple last minute things at the store with my dad and when I came back the whole backyard was lit up with white lights in the trees and 500+(not exaggerating) candles everywhere and she got on one knee and BAM, the ring didn't fit my sausage fingers lol It was cute, but I was disappointed that she had asked my mom to record it so there was this huge bright ass light in my face the whole time.

No, complete surprise. I was expecting an iPad as an early anniversary gift. The box was just ways to small for that. When I realized what is was my mind just went blank!

I knew he asked for my fathers blessing. He also made a reservation at a restaurant notorious for being super romantic in NYC. But, he was able to surprise me because he took it out of the box! Otherwise I totally would have known.

I had no idea! In fact we were on vacation and we parked our rental next to a jewelry store. I jokingly said let go in a look at rings! He said not right now baby. Once we get some bills paid and have some money saved up then we will look. Later that evening he proposed on the beach! Even hired a photographer to capture the moment! Love that man!

I was surprised - we've been together for a long time and have talked about marriage but the proposal was not on my radar. He proposed 2 days before my 30th birthday and was so sweet sending me little gifts every day during my birthday week. One of my friends suspected it was coming but I thought he was just making a big deal because it was my 30th bday. Somehow we ended up on stage at Busch Gardens in a lip sync battle and he shocked me at the end. When we got to the park it was around 6pm and I hadn't eaten since that morning...I was so hungry and wanted to go eat but he insisted we go to see this show. I may have gotten a little hangry and called him crazy lol but it was definately worth it. So happy it was recorded although it's hard to watch myself on camera ha ha. Yes, I knew it was coming as we talked about it beforehand, he made my ring, I helped him pick out my stones and the setting, and I watched him put it together. I didn't know for sure when it was going to happen but I had a feeling.

Yes and no. I knew that it would be coming, but I didn't realize it would be as soon as it was. Thanksgiving last year I was thinking within the year, it was within the month.

We had talked about getting married a lot so I knew it would happen. He completely surprised me though when he did it. I thought he was planning something like next year not this year lol

I was hoping for it! We were going to Cuba for vacation and I was realllly hoping he would propose. We stayed in Havana for 3 nights for the first portion and I was waiting for it to happen that whole time... it didn't happen so I had kind of resigned to the fact that he wasn't proposing and decided to just enjoy our trip. When we got to Varadero on the 4th day, he proposed that night! I totally knew as soon as he wanted to sit down on the secluded beach and started talking about how he loved me. I was ready to say yes before he even asked lol.

I had NO IDEA. It was the last day of our anniversary vacation, and I actually texted my mom saying that our vacation had been great, but a ring would've made it better! Little did I know, my entire family knew...

He proposed 4 hours later! I cried like a baby!

I pretty much knew. We had been talking about it for months. With his residency approaching and knowing he would almost definitely have to move I figured it would happen before he matched. He had also made comments for months about how it can take a really long time to get a ring (he had to order it in).

I was still sort of surprised though. I had been half expecting it all year so every time we went on a vacation or a special holiday or anniversary came up I held my breath, but he never proposed. Then we decided on a last minute trip to a pricey resort in Jamaica. I figured he hadn't been able to find a ring and decided to spend the money on the trip instead.

Once we got there I pretty much knew though. I found out that he had booked us a private dinner in the resort's wedding gazebo and paid for me to get a manicure earlier that day. He also insisted he help me choose the perfect dress for the dinner. haha. Poor guy, he was way too nervous/excited not to give blatant hints. Of course he through me off again when the waiter brought champagne and we toasted to our trip and carried on. I thought I had misread the whole thing. What I didn't know was that a photographer was coming and he was waiting for her to arrive. It ended up being great because we have pictures of the whole thing.

I knew the proposal was coming. We'd been together for almost 9 years and I knew he had been saving for a ring. We went and picked out the ring together and I knew it bought it- a text popped on his phone saying his jewelry was ready for pick up. It was a busy month - both of our bdays, and going out of town a few times, so I genuinely forgot about it.

The day he proposed he asked me if I wanted to visit my friends in another town while he visited his in the same town. I'm thinking we are going to spend the day apart so when he proposed and told me plans with friends were a lie, I was totally caught off guard and completely surprised. It was nice to be so surprised when I knew it was coming.

I was 100% in on it, so no. No surprise at all. We picked out the ring together. It was, however, a surprise to my family and the 200+ other people he proposed in front of.

Had absolutely no idea. We've been together for over 7 years. I didn't expect it for the first few years (his own admission, he wanted it to feel right and I did too). Year 4, I started to get antsy, thinking it would happen at every holiday, birthday, anniversary, etc.

We went to Lambeau Field to see the Packers (my team) play the 49ers (his team), nothing. The following year we went to Candlestick Park to see the same two teams duke it out again, and nothing! By that point I thought, if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen... I can't anticipate it.

We took a trip to the Bahamas this past Christmas/NYE, had a private bungalow right on the beach that we were staying in... we ran into the hotel manager at the bar and had a nice chat, and he went as far as saying the NEXT couple staying in our bungalow, the man was planning to propose to his girlfriend, the trip was a complete surprise (she thought they were going to have dinner for their anniversary, he pulled out all the stops and got her boss to give her a week off, flew her to the Bahamas, etc). Needless to say... I was feeling a little burnt out on engagements by that point

A friend came to visit from out of town, as he does each year, and each time we usually go to our favorite karaoke bar (where FH and I met many years ago). All of our friends were there, as they usually are. FH and I have a song we always sing together (it's nothing romantic--he raps, I sing backup, lol) so we got signed up to do it. As we go up to the stage, EVERY one of our friends whips their phones out and start taking pictures and videos. I'm too drunk to realize what's going on and thought, "wow they really want to save our song for later!" After the song is over, I put my microphone away and turn just in time to find FH on one knee. I didn't register what he said (drunk + "oh my god is that a ring?" = brain melt) but as soon as he held the ring up for me, that was it! Thunderous applause, and I made sure to pick up the microphone and say, "yeah, I guess so."

I couldn't have asked for a better proposal. It's where we met, something we both enjoy doing, and all of our friends were there. And I had NO IDEA, which made it even better. Not expecting it was the best part

Yep FH had actually been asking me since a little after our first Christmas together and that song Marry Me by Jason Derulo came out. He would sing it and ask me to answer lol And then the day that he did ask it was in front of a few a of my friends and they were like laughing and giggling because they all knew, and I knew too. It was a very sweet moment and definitely fitting for our relationship

I had no clue! The day before it happened I was talking to my friends about how I was never going to get married. The next day we went to go see a Christmas light show and he asked as we were walking back to the car! I was speechless! My friends thought I knew because we were just talking about it the day before!!

I didn't know specifics until the night off. We talked about it and I thought he would wait a while, he asked me for my mum and dads phone number, so he could ask them for permission, but I didn't realise he would do it that fast. I told him that he was not allowed to do it on Valentines day, because I thought it was cheesy.

We were planning a weekend in Tahoe with friends and he talked about how we should make sure to have some time to ourselves as well, which made me suspicious. When we went shopping for booze, he said we should get another bottle of bubbly which is when I knew, because he never drinks champagne normally. Our friends arrived really late that night (they had problems with the snow chains), so by the time everybody was there, it was after 12. He still wanted to do it the first night because he was struggling to keep the secret.

Not at all, knew it was coming even before I saw the ring box in his pocket.

Total surprise, and it was amazing He planned and plotted with my family for over a month, too.

I kind of had a feeling he might propose. He was acting so weird that day. We had picked out the ring six months prior. So, I figured it was going to happen soon and my birthday had rolled around and we were on vacation. Sure enough, he got down on one knee and it was perfect.
