Your engagement: Did you know it was coming?!

Not at all. I expected it while we were on vacation in early January. By the time March 30 came around, I had lost all hope. I honestly didn't believe him when he asked. I thought he was teasing me.

We had been talking about it for a while and he's super romantic so I always had my nails done ready and waiting. We went on vacation and I watched him like a hawk to see if he would be overprotective over anything or acting funny he didn't at all! We even shared the safe nothing at all so I just gave up on him proposing on that trip and enjoyed my vacation, little did I know on the fourth day in he proposed in front of a beautiful sunset! The ring was hiding in a compartment in his camera case so I was definitely surprised : )

Mines actually a pretty funny story. Based on the clues he had given me for my Christmas present this past Christmas, I was thinking that it was going to happen then, but it didn't. He ended up getting me a trip to Nashville for this past April. My coworkers were all saying how he was probably going to do it while we were in Nashville so I had been thinking about it a lot. I thought how it would be perfect if he proposed on the stage at the Ryman. But for some reason the whole time we were in Nashville it didn't cross my mind at all, even after the car rental attendant agreed that between her and us we were engaged for the week so we didn't have to pay the extra driver fee. After he proposed FH said how hard it was to keep a straight face and not say anything when the attendant pretended we were engaged. So by some miracle it was a complete surprise that day!

I knew it was coming eventually but I was totally surprised that day! The day before I had run in to a friend and she asked what was up with him taking so long to ask me to marry him. Then when I got home we had gotten a Christmas card from some friends that had just gotten married. I told him "babe, when we get married I want to send cute Christmas cards!" His response was "oh? When's this "wedding" we're having?"

So I was like, yeaaahhhh were gonna have a talk about that. So very calmly (and emotionally) I was like, this is for reals right? Like you're not just pulling my leg here right? You do want to spend your life with me like we've talked about, right?!

His response was I'm sorry you don't have a ring yet. (The ring was in our safe...I just didn't have it yet) he told me he DOES want to marry me and he was working on it. So I figured, he hasn't bought a ring but it's gonna happen.

He proposed the next day! On the way to get photos taken (I was told they were for his gma for Christmas. His sis and her fiancé were there too) I was thinking, this would be the PERFECT time for him to propose!! Too bad he just said yesterday he doesn't have a ring!

Yeah I was surprised when he got down on one knee! And we got some great photos!

I knew he had the ring, and it was going to happen at some point, just didnt really know when/what he planned, i feel like it was going to be waiting forever. We talked about getting married, and was already looking into stuff, and setting a budget. Finally one night after work, it was really nice out, and we had a new puppy, he said lets take him for walk at the park. So we went for a walk, and we were playing with the dog. he got down on one knee, saying something was wrong with the dogs leash, and proposed, It was so sweet and i definitley didnt expect it at that moment, i wasnt even paying attention to him really. lol. But it worked out great,

I proposed! I had a guitar pick engraved with "marry me?" and gave it to him on Valentine's Day. He had no clue...I'd always said that I didn't want to get married. And then I did. :-)

He asked for my ring size, but came up with a drawn out story why he needed it (said his bosse's wife always gets jewlery for employees and spouses). I only half hearted believed the story and had a hunch he might ask, especially since the holidays were coming up, but wasn't getting my hopes up just in case lol. when he asked I had no idea that he'd actually made the purchase and was going to ask that day. We'd spent the whole day in the city and he asked towards the end of it. I was completely surprised, but was like "so is the story true?" Haha I never did get any from them

No. It happened while we were cleaning the kitchen.

I knew that it was going to happen last year, but that was all. I had my suspicions when he started acting funny the night he proposed- telling me he didn't want to hold my right hand and that it had to be my left (because of the ring box and he didn't want me bumping it). It was perfect though and well planned out.

It was a bit of a surprise but I knew it was coming soon. We had been talking about it for months. Our 1 year anniversary was getting close and we were closing on a house in a few weeks. He took me ring shopping, but as we were leaving the jeweler he said "we're purchasing a house, let's wait a few months to get settled". Two days later he was popping the question!

He said if he was ever gonna get married that he would want it to be with me. This was two years in our official relationship. We had been dating for about four. So when we were about to hit our three year anniversary I made a decision to ask him to marry me. I bought him a ring I bought a cake and it was also his birthday so he expected a cake. When it was time to sing happy birthday I asked him to get the cake out of the fridge while I got the ring out. He took it out of the cake box and I asked him to read it. He looked up and said yes. I was holding the ring box open when he did. That's my story.

I knew it was coming because he was taking me to look at rings, but I had no idea he would get down on his knee right there in the store... LOL

We had talked about getting married for months. He had already walked me through jewelry stores and asked me a million questions about what I wanted for the past 6 months. The Friday before he texted me asking my preferences on size, stone, gold color. Saturday he asked me if I wanted to go with him to pick it up or if I wanted him to surprise me with it. I went with him to pick it up. He put it on me in the store. We took a picture of it in the truck and called our parents. No one was surprised, but it was still perfectly us.

BTW, we are super practical, he's the romantic in our relationship, and we both hate surprises.

Sort of... we went ring shopping a month earlier and he made sure I wasn't busy the day he was going to propose. But he proposed first thing that morning, and he had a whole day planned that I didn't know about. At the end of the day, he had planned a surprise engagement party!

My proposal was bittersweet. My fiancé originally wanted to wait until our 2year anniversary. And he had spoken to my two sisters to plan it. They convinced him to propose for what was supposed to be a "farewell party" before my brother was deployed overseas. So here I am trying to get ready for a party for my brother and after dinner he pops the question in front of close friends and family.

Surprised! I had thought it was coming but I was getting ready for finals in college when he asked, so I totally wasn't thinking about it! However, while I was driving up to meet him for lunch (he asked before we went in and ate) I was thinking about HOW he would ask. Lol! Coincidence?

I wasn't surprised at all. We were going to go out for Valentine's Day but there was a snow storm so we went out the next night. He had hid the ring in a jacket at my house so I brought the jacket with me and he proposed later that evening. (After 7 years I wasn't waiting any longer!)

I had no idea. I knew it was coming though. We'd been dating almost 11 months. I figured he'd ask when we went to Hawaii (which is next weekend now), but had no idea. We went for a nice dinner, drinks downtown and a stoll through the park. We took a couple pictures and then he handed his phone to a stranger to snap a couple shots. I was tired, so after a couple I said, "can we go home now?" He said, "no, he's going to take a couple more". And turned to his side and knelt down and asked. I still cry and laugh and my heart skips a beat when I think about it.

100% surprised! I was convinced he would do it on our anniversary and boy was I shocked when I woke up to the most amazing display in our dining room exactly 1 month before our anniversary! 3 dozen roses, a music box I can keep forever, and a wonderful ring and you can believe I was one happy (emotional) woman! So glad he always keeps me guessing!!
