Your Most Ridiculous Wedding Idea

We've all had them... $300 Bridesmaids Shoes, live animals as guest favors, acrobats hanging from the ceiling, nude interpretitive dances (straight off of David Tutera), DIY centerpieces made of some rare flower only grown by Himalayan Monks in June when your wedding is actually in November... What...

$300 Bridesmaids Shoes, live animals as guest favors, acrobats hanging from the ceiling, nude interpretitive dances (straight off of David Tutera), DIY centerpieces made of some rare flower only grown by Himalayan Monks in June when your wedding is actually in November...

What was your most RIDICULOUS wedding idea that made you have to sit back and say, "ok, now things are getting out of hand"...

Folks are sounding stressed and I think all of us crazy brides could stand to sit back and laugh at ourselves sometimes...

BTW: I'm the $300 Bridesmaids Shoes...haha! I still kind of think it's a good idea, but I have found a more reasonably priced alternative at Nine West...

Lol Hillery. We've booked so much other stuff that I'm over getting them now. I'm going to get myself a nice pair of low heeled shoes, maybe with a little embellishment and have given myself a $50 budget.

A handmade 40x40 foot hanging canopy over the dance floor made from 5000 paper circles and 2000 hand cut strips of fabric.

We are doing it, everyone loves it and my mom will never want to tie another string in her life after this Smiley smile

My cake flavor is Funfetti. Seriously. Guess it is not crazy although it did throw our wedding coordinator for a loop.

    HA!! I love this post!

I wanted a fog machine to run throughout the reception so that it constantly looks like we are on a cloud. Im still tempted to buy a few machines too but FH is against it lol

That I could have a guest list of 200 and do everything for $5000.00. That was before I looked into any prices.

@Mrs Reed My fiance wanted a fog machine and lasers for our entrance to make it more "dramatic". I put a stop to that foolishness. In an enclosed space people's asthma and breathing problems can flare up!

Me? I wanted a mariachi band. 8 piece. Classy. My parents are not prejudiced but they would have had a fit because they couldn't understand any of the songs.

After seeing the Tyler Perry Movie, Madea's Family Reunion I wanted to have live angels hanging from the ceiling of my wedding, playing harps! Lol I didn't even try to make that dream a reality as I knew right away that it was rediculous! Lol

We are thinking of the candy buffet idea. I had this crazy dream the other night that instead of candy, it should be homemade cookies! For about 150 people so that would be like 500-600 cookies!!! Oh hell to the no. I made 300 cookies one time for the USO at our airport and that in itself was crazy. Ex BF was a firefighter and they were taking pizzas over there as way to thank people for their service ( shortly after 9/11). I said hey...... I will make cookies! for 150 Marines!!

My most outrageous was thinking we could have the wedding we wanted to have including the honeymoon for $5,000 which went to $8,000 then to $10,000 and then we just said screw it! Even holding back on some things we still ended up at about $20,000.

FH wanted pyrotechnics and a fog machine for our entrance. He knew the pyrotechnics were out since it was indoors, and I called our venue to see if we could do the fog machine (its his day too). I wasn't to upset when the venue said no.

I wanted Michael Buble to be our wedding singer. In my dreams.

My wedding planning has stayed pretty sane, but when we first got engaged, we talked about honeymooning in Bora Bora. Yeah, just a itty bit out of my price range.

I still daydream of a David Tutera wedding though. I'm definitely applying for the show

I don't know if I really had one....I pretty much knew from the get go what would be in and out of budget....and we got pretty much everything we could have wanted (within budget)

Although before I got engaged, I swore I would get married at the Plaza Hotel. I still love that hotel.

I REALLY want fireworks. My venue allows fireworks with a licensed pyro technician. The ones I priced are in the couple thousand range. I'll probably be settling for sparklers!
