First, I've done some searching on the topic and see that a lot of people don't agree with honeymoon registries. I'm not looking for opinions on whether or not to do it.

Honeyfund I love the idea that a person is purchasing a specific item towards your honeymoon. I've also read where when the couple writes their thank you notes, they include a picture of them specific to the gift. For example: if someone paid for a snorkeling excursion, they include a picture of them from that excursion. I loved that idea! I know honeyfund takes a percentage but I have also read that the website encourages guests to send the money directly to the couple instead of through the site?

Zola- I like that you can also add other items to the registry as well. FH and I live together already so we don't need a ton of household items but there are some things I could add to a registry. However, I don't like the idea of specifically asking for cash without saying what it's for like you could with honeyfund? Obviously I don't want to put airline or hotel gift cards on the registry as we will be paying for the honeymoon ourselves up front so those gift cards would be pointless after we've already paid.

Any input is appreciated!

I emailed Honeyfund, and their answer was “we are not a travel agent. We collect the money, and then you use it as you please.”

I find this very deceptive- guests think they are buying you a snorkeling trip, when they may actually be paying for your airfare.
