Your wedding day is finally here! All that’s left to do is say your vows and party all night, right? Well, almost. We know you’ll be busy dancing and greeting guests, but there are a few more things you’ll need to do on the big day.

Sign your marriage license
This one’s a biggie. With all the wedding-day craziness, signing a document might be the last thing on your mind, but without it, you’re not actually married! So make sure that you, your almost-spouse, officiant and witnesses get together to make sure everything is signed, sealed and delivered!

Eat
Most brides and grooms say that their biggest regret from their wedding day is that they didn’t actually eat any of the delicious food! Not only will you miss out on the yumminess, you may also suffer the consequences of an empty stomach (especially if you’ve been drinking alcohol). So, be sure to take a few moments to nibble on something both before and during the wedding.

Go the bathroom
It may be extremely difficult to drag yourself away from the dance floor, but a trip to the restroom can help you avoid feeling uncomfortable later on in the evening. It will also allow you to look in the mirror and adjust your hair or makeup before you head back out. Be sure to grab a bridesmaid or two to help you with your dress while you relieve yourself (sounds awkward, but that’s what your ‘maids are there for!).

Say “thanks”
Think about all of the people who helped you along the way. From your parents to your wedding party members, vendors, and more, there may be several people who truly went above and beyond to make your wedding amazing. So be sure to take the time to personally thank them. Whether it’s with a gift, a card, or even a hug and a few kind words, it’s important to let those people know how much you appreciate them on this most special day.

Tip your vendors
Your vendors will understand that you’re probably a bit busy, but it’s important to make sure that someone handles the tips at some point during the wedding (usually at the end of the night). Of course, personally thanking your vendors is a nice gesture (and of course, leaving them a review on WeddingWire!), but you can also have a bridal party member or wedding planner take care of the actual tipping for you.

Spend some alone time with your spouse
Yes, you want to make sure to go from table to table to say hi to all of your guests and dance the night away with your friends, but remember – this day is really about you and your new husband or wife. So take a few private moments to talk, laugh, take it all in. These moments will be among the most memorable and significant of the day.
