Allison Donnelly

Experience

Allyson majored in journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studied journalism and reporting, and held an internship at USA Weekend Sunday magazine. Allyson spent a semester as an education reporter for the university-run newswire service. 

After graduation, she moved to New York City to work as a lifestyle editor at Every Day with Rachael Ray. She worked on stories about fashion, party planning, holiday gift guides, travel, food and recipes, and DIY crafts. 

After five years at the magazine, she moved to her hometown of Washington, DC, where she worked as an editor for National Geographic Books. 

Education

Allyson graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she majored in journalism and received a certification in the Media, Self, and Society Scholars Program. During her time at the University of Maryland, she held internships at On Tap, USA Weekend, and Capital News Service. As a senior in college, she interned at Every Day with Rachael Ray as part of the American Society of Magazine Editors internship program. She also received a certification in Leadership Strategies in Book Publishing from Yale School of Management.
