WW: Thank you for joining us, Hunter! We are so excited to have you included in our Engagement Edit series. To kick things off, we would love to know more about your #justsaidyes moment. How did your high school sweetheart, Cameron, pop the question?

HS: When I studied abroad in Florence, Italy with two of my best friends after my sophomore year of college, I buried a note for Cameron in a park down the street from where we lived. After I graduated from Ole Miss in May, Cameron took me back to Florence. On the third day of our trip, he took me back to that same park. We unburied the letter and buried the ashes of my grandfather and my great grandmother in the same spot. Then he pulled the most stunning ring I’ve ever seen, said a ton of sweet things that neither of us remember and asked me to be his wife! I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy or sure of anything as I was in that very moment. Everything was an emotional and exciting blur from that point forward. We Facetimed our parents and the rest of our family and friends from our apartment and walked across the Ponte Vecchio to pop some celebratory champagne. The next day we stayed in the dreamiest treehouse on the outskirts of the city. The entire trip was the definition of a dream come true, and I still can’t believe how lucky I am.

WW: [Swoon] That could be the most romantic thing we’ve ever heard! How has Cameron been involved in the wedding planning process?

HS: Cameron is a photographer so he’s definitely a creative type. I really value his opinion in the wedding planning process, especially when it comes to all things related to design, colors, etc. He has probably enjoyed the catering tastings more than anything else though. ;)

WW: What was the most exciting thing you two have checked off of your list thus far?

HS: Well, for me, it was finding my dream dress at Kleinfeld. The most exciting thing we have done together was finding our venue. We both INSTANTLY fell in love with Graystone Quarry. There are a lot of weddings in Nashville, which makes it difficult to be truly unique. Just south of the city, Graystone Quarry is a new private event property located on a reclaimed rock quarry. It is complete with limestone cliff walls, a scenic waterfall and a perfectly private setting. It has a distinct, romantic vibe that sets it apart from everything else in the area and really fits our style.

WW: Did you find any of your vendors on WeddingWire? If so, which ones?

HS: Graystone’s full-service approach means they handpick the area’s best vendors. I love this because it narrows down the number of choices we have to make and allows us to focus on other aspects of the wedding. I have looked up reviews for all our vendors WeddingWire which has been very helpful.

WW: Have any wedding planning tools on WeddingWire been especially useful to you?

HS: The checklist has been the most useful tool for me. It helps keep me on track and organized when things get overwhelming. The Hashtag generator helped us get some ideas flowing, but we’re still undecided on a final hashtag. (All ideas welcome!!) We’re tackling the guest list and seating chart in the next few weeks so I’m sure the seating chart tool will come in handy!

WW: We were lucky to have you share your wedding dress shopping experience with WeddingWire’s audience. For those who missed your Instagram takeover, are you able to share anything about your bridal style?

HS: I had the most wonderful wedding dress shopping experience in New York City with my mom, Mimi and Cameron’s mom. We visited BHLDN, Mark Ingram and Kleinfeld. I said yes to the dress and went for something completely different than I originally had in mind.

As for my bridal style, I was continuously drawn to tulle and nontraditional colors such as shades of blush, champagne and taupe. My biggest piece of advice to brides searching for the perfect dress would be to have an open mind and try things outside of your comfort zone. The dress I picked is completely different than my original vision and I couldn’t be happier with my decision!

WW: You and Cameron have a bit of an unconventional idea for your honeymoon - could you tell us a little bit about what you have planned?

HS: We are in the midst of searching for an Airstream to restore for a cross-country trip. We’ve been dreaming about this for a while now. Cameron loves travel photography and I love travel writing so we thought, why not combine two of our passions? We’ve both been overseas several times, but there’s so much of our own country we haven’t seen.

WW: Finally, what is the most exciting thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

HS: Oh goodness, so much! I would have to say we are most looking forward to having all of our closest friends and family in one place. My best friend is also choreographing a pretty epic dance routine for the wedding party. We’ve had so much planning the wedding so far and I can’t wait to see how all of the hard work comes together!
