WW: Congrats on your engagement, Kelly! Can you tell us about your #JustSaidYes moment to your fiancé, Kevin?

KT: Thank you! Our day began with an impromptu hike in the Marin Headlands, the weather was just beginning to warm up around bay area and we thought it only natural to take the day to explore. Unbeknownst to me, our day couldn’t have been more planned. After a few failed attempts to find a spot to picnic on our hike, we finally agreed to go off the path a bit and settle down in the grassy overlook. I had only managed to eat a few bites of lunch before Kevin anxiously handed me a letter. At first I didn’t think anything of this, he’s quite the romantic and had written me letters in the past. Upon opening it, I realized it was much, much, more than that. After tearing up he proceed to get down on one knee and popped the question. I instantly broke down and had began to cry, and of course said YES! We ended our day with a seaplane ride over San Francisco, which I shared a peek into here.

WW: What has been the most exciting thing about wedding planning so far?

KT: Definitely the travel associated with our location! We decided early on that we wanted our wedding to be a bit of a destination. I had always dreamed of having a Palm Springs wedding and Kevin couldn’t have been more on board. The past few times we’ve headed down to check out vendors have been such a treat, and more like a vacation if anything.

WW: We know that in addition to blogging, you are also a beauty writer for POPSUGAR. How have you found a balance between work, life, blogging and wedding planning?

KT: It certainly is a balancing act! Most bloggers will tell you that there are no set hours for creating content and maintaining a website—it is a LOT of work! In an effort to not get overwhelmed I try to unplug after 7 p.m. and relax before heading to bed. It’s also nice knowing that we have a wedding coordinator to help out along the way, she’s been a lifesaver!

WW: Have any wedding planning tools on WeddingWire been especially useful to you?

KT: I worked in the wedding industry before my current position at Minted, so I know and use WeddingWire frequently. We’ve been using the guest list tool to help us map out who we are planning to invite, and also keeping track of all sent stationery. The individual tabs for rehearsal and reception are so helpful, not to mention the option to add showers or other associated events!

WW: Did you find any of your vendors on WeddingWire? If so, which ones?

KT: We have just began to scout for florists and the cake and have had so many great options presented to us. I found the photos and price breakdowns to save a ton of time when deciding whether or not to reach out to vendors.

WW: How would you describe your personal style? And how do you plan on incorporating it into your wedding day?

KT: My personal style is ever-evolving! Being that I’m a bit of chameleon I've definitely had to narrow my focus in on the location and our style as a couple. We’re both very drawn to modern mid-century design but, with a bohemian influence. Our venue couldn’t evoke this vibe better! We plan on incorporating this through our added design touches and floral arrangements.

WW: Any exciting details you can share with us about your wedding?

KT: We have many fun details in the works! We may or may not be working on something special for our first dance. My fiancé is an incredible dancer and I can’t wait to surprise our guest.

WW: Finally, about your honeymoon! As a blogger who loves to travel, can you share your honeymoon destination? Any packing tips?

KT: After traveling abroad shortly after getting engaged we decided to honeymoon somewhere that didn’t require two full days of travel. More than anything we want our time after our wedding to be both relaxing and fun. We’ve decided to work with a travel agent to help us plan everything out, which will relieve much of the stress of planning. We’ve set our eyes on two locations, either Tulum or Maui!
