About

I am a Richmond, VA "wedding rabbi" and secular wedding officiant serving Virginia, DC, West Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and beyond.

A wedding ceremony is an expression of who you are as a couple, your shared (and different) religious and cultural traditions, your values, and how you wish to express before your family and friends what it means to be married. We can make any changes you would like to reflect what you want your special day to be about.

Searching for a Jewish wedding in Richmond, VA? Looking for a wedding officiant in Virginia who will perform LGBTQ weddings, interfaith weddings, weddings on Shabbat and other Jewish holidays, non-religious and non-Jewish ceremonies? I am honored to help you with zero judgements, whatsoever.

And if you're just looking for someone to sign a marriage license and that-is-that, I can help with that as well.

I officiate an average of thirty weddings per year for couples in venues as diverse as vineyards, plantation homes, breweries and night clubs. I am excited to help make your day as special as possible.

In order to begin the wedding planning process, please email (do not call) and I will send you everything you need to get started. Calling instead of emailing draws out the process longer.

A customizable ceremony everyone loved

About half of our guests were not Jewish and had never been to a Jewish ceremony. Rabbi Patrick let us totally customize our ceremony to what felt right for us. He was funny, poignant, and totally knowledgeable - he explained all the Jewish elements so well. Everyone was coming up to us during the reception and after to tell us how great he was, and we totally agree!

Fantastic Rabbi!

We are so fortunate that we found Rabbi Patrick. He was the perfect rabbi for our wedding. As a nonreligious couple that observes some Jewish traditions culturally, Rabbi Patrick was great in structuring a ceremony fit for us. Prior to the wedding, we met with him to design the ceremony. He provided us with a number of ceremony elements/traditions that we could either include or omit. For the ones we selected, they could be religious or secular or even semi-religious. He has a humorous and pleasant personality that made the ceremony joyful and all of our guests loved him. The ceremony was filled with laughter and he wove together a story of our love beautifully. Would highly recommend Rabbi Patrick!

The BEST Rabbi!

Six months after our wedding, guests are still raving about Rabbi Patrick! We had the most beautiful interfaith ceremony that Rabbi Patrick co-officiated with a Catholic Priest. We were able to construct a ceremony that illustrated who we are as a couple, and there were no judgements whatsoever about anything we wanted to add or remove for a traditional Jewish ceremony. Our ceremony was full of laughter, comedy, was completely personalized to us as a couple. We are so happy to have found Rabbi Patrick!
