27 Jun, 2021The story of our wedding
Adam and I met at work and the rest is history! We were engaged in 2019 on the anniversary of our first date before jetting off to a wonderful trip in Costa Rica. Adam was going to propose after we arrived in paradise, but had just picked up the ring and was too excited to wait. He proposed in our kitchen right before we left town.
We had a beautiful wedding at The Paine Art Center & Gardens on June 27th, 2021 exactly one year after we postponed due to COVID. We chose a vintage garden theme and I incorporated bird and birdcage figurines to show our love of nature and animals. The Paine was a perfect venue for us because of our shared love of historic homes, art, and nature. We enjoy visiting the mansion and gardens for the art exhibitions and fairs throughout the year. Adam was sold on choosing the Paine once he found out their exclusive caterer was Zuppas because that's where we had our first date 10 years ago. It rained and was misting in the morning while we were getting ready and cleared up beautifully for our outdoor ceremony in the gardens. We had a hand fasting vow ceremony in front of our closest family and friends. We had the dinner and reception in the conservatory and carriage house on the grounds. Our favors were the place cards, I made them out of seeded paper for the guests to take home and plant in their gardens so they can watch the flowers bloom.
