15 Sep, 2018The story of our wedding
Our favorite time of year is autumn, right in the beginning of September when the weather starts to change and the seasons go from Summer to Fall. We wanted to incorporate the colors and feels of early autumn. The blushes, golds and burgundy colors intertwined with greenery and delicate dahlia flowers. Everything has this modern feel inside Hotel Monaco mixed with this romance and whimsy from the colors, lighting, and decor. PIttsburgh itself has this modern and romantic feel to it. The architecture and bridges mixed with the greenery of the mountains and parks. We think the juxtaposition of those two features makes the city beautiful and bold and I wanted that to showcase that throughout the wedding. We wanted to get married in Pittsburgh because the city means so much to us. There is always something new to discover both within the city and our relationship. It's the city we met and live. We both went to school here and call this place our home with our family and friends. There's a lot of heart and love here and we wanted that to be a huge part of our wedding. We chose Hotel Monaco because we actually had a nightcap there on our first date so it has special meaning to us. We love the urban feel of the city life and being right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh is where we wanted to be. We both wanted a smaller, private ceremony and found that the rooftop was the perfect place. The flow of the wedding from roof to ballrooms was exactly what we wanted going from intimate to an all out party.
