26 Jun, 2021The story of our wedding
We had the most amazing wedding day at Granite Rose by Wedgewood. Samantha and the rest of the staff there were very attentive to make sure we had everything we needed and made sure things moved along and stayed (for the most part) on schedule. The hour in the bridal suite getting ready flew by, and I was in there while the rest of the wedding party was processing in, so my first glimpse of all my guests came as I was about to walk down the aisle. A close coworker of my husband was our officiant, and his humor kept things light while capturing our fun, free-spirited personalities. Pawfect for You's dogsitter service was also great to tend to our corgi ring bearer's needs before, during, and after the ceremony so he could still be a part of our special day without us having to worry about him (or having a friend or family member miss any of the day tending to him either).
Liv and Kelsey from Haus of Beauty were my hair and makeup team. They set up in our hotel room the morning of and effortlessly got myself, 3 bridesmaids, and my mother all done up and ready. They were very kind, listened to what each of us wanted, and gave us all natural looks that most of us non-makeup wearers were very pleased with. They were also very patient with our numerous requests for touchups or changes in style.

There's so many great photos, we're having the hardest time lowering it down to the 60 or so images that will fit in their custom photo book. Our videographer Art of Arthouse Pictures worked in tandem with the photographers, merging their talents to get the best shots possible in both photo and video.
We mixed things up with a donut wall instead of a traditional cake (and to-go boxes for the donuts in case guests either wanted to save theirs for later or just wanted an extra one for the road), fire pit with smores and cigars as something to entertain the non-dancers, and a grand sparkler entrance for that extra "wow" factor. We even took a few dance lessons at Royal Palace Dance Studio to start the reception off with a choreographed first dance. Our DJ was a family friend who'd been in the business for years; we're glad he was able to DJ for us before he's set to retire.
From the appetizers to the buffet, all of the food was delicious. We only wish we had had more time to enjoy the apps! They brought us a plate of them while we were having photos done during cocktail hour, but we were so busy with the photos that we only got to have one bite!
I was in love with how my bouquet turned out, and my teacup centerpieces looked great as well. The team at Harrington's took all my wants and ideas and brought them to life even better than I could've imagined. They even invited me to come look over all my arrangements the day before to make sure I was truly happy with everything!
The whole day really does go by so fast, but we had the best experience we could've imagined. Some of our guests are still talking about how much fun they had. I think the only thing I would've done differently would've been to add the extra hour so we might've had a better chance at talking to all of our guests. Even so, it was a perfect day that we will remember for years to come.
