1 Jun, 2019The story of our wedding
We are big on trying new restaurants. He proposed to me after dinner and made sure that my mom and sister were there to capture it as he knows how important pictures and videos are to me.
We are wedding videographers ourselves, so we took every detail of our wedding very seriously but most importantly, our photographer and videographer. We had more of a "simple, yet rustic" style wedding with our colors being sky blue and sage green with an accent color of silver.
On the Thursday before, we had our rehearsal dinner at Wahby Park, where our ceremony was held with our (huge) bridal party and parents. Afterwards, we went to get pizza after with everyone, which is our favorite food. It was a great time filled with so many laughs and I will never forget it.
On Friday night, all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen had sleepovers at our respective getting ready locations. It was so fun for that extra bonding time.
On Saturday morning, we had mimosas and pastries while we waited for our hair and makeup girls to come to the house. My mom and sister helped me to get ready in my dress, and we did a really fun first look with the bridesmaids and my dad. He was able to get ready with his mom and best man. It was such a great moment.

Luckily, our friends and family came to the rescue with re-enforcements and stuck it out during the ceremony. It is certainly something that I will never forget. After the rain, we were unable to take photos at the park so we were able to take our bridal portraits, bridal party photos, and family photos at our venue, Barrister Gardens. Thankfully, a bridesmaid's mom brought us towels, curling irons, and blow dryers to get freshened up. It was such a fun moment to see everyone work together and I truly believe it made the whole night more fun.
After photos, we entered the reception to T.I.'s "Bring Em Out" as it truly showcased all of our personalities. After dinner, which was an absolutely delicious buffet catered by the venue, the dances began. We danced to The Script's "Never Seen Anything Quite Like You" and it was magical. Of course, my first dance with my dad to Darius Rucker's "It Won't Be Like This For Long" was quite the tear jerker. And by "tear jerker", I mean I balled like a baby and that can be seen in the photos. My husband and his mom's dance was so sweet, and full of laughs, which perfectly described their playful personalities.
Our day was absolutely perfect. It was so full of love and while the rain may have altered our plans, I wouldn't have had it any other way.
