5 Oct, 2019The story of our wedding
Brian and I got married at the Bryan Museum in Galveston, Texas on a beautiful fall day. Our wedding represented the best of both worlds: I am a small town girl born in Galveston, and Brian was born and raised in Jamaica. Our traditional Christian ceremony was followed by a Carribean-themed cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed tropical cocktails and Jamaican appetizers (our favorites were the jerk chicken dip and the meat pies!). In a nod to my favorite place in Galveston, the guest favors were handcrafted candy boxes filled with speciality candy from La Kings, located on the historical Strand. Candy included everything from chocolate turtles to salt water taffy. There were no extras laying around at the end of the night! Another guest favorite was the Hey Mikey's ice cream cart. This local ice cream shop let Brian and I have a hand in creating our own ice cream flavors! This was the perfect after-dinner-snack during our reception. Our wedding was perfect for us and I wouldn't have changed anything about that day.
