20 Apr, 2019The story of our wedding
Working in the wedding industry for over 15 years - I've had so many brides thank me and tell me it was the best day of their lives. I truly never understood what they meant until my day finally arrived and I married my best friend. I was so lucky to get married at the venue that I love and have worked hundreds of weddings over the years Seven-Degrees You could not wipe the smile off my face that day and I felt so much joy knowing that i was marrying my love with all my friends and family there to be a part of our celebration. And the gift of these photos from the amazingly talented @nicolecaldwellphoto ...I just can't find the words to express how grateful I am for these beautiful photos that truly captured our personalities and love on this truly magical day. But having Nicole, such a wonderful friend by my side all day was the true gift. I love you Nicole Caldwell!!
C E R E M O N Y Our wedding ceremony was the most important part of the entire day to me. It took us 8 years to get to this moment and I wanted everything to reflect us as a couple to capture our journey as well as pave our future together.
Continue reading »Working at Seven-Degrees for so many years I would daydream about my own wedding ceremony as I sent every bride down the aisle. My visions included having gospel singers serenade me as I walked down the hillside along side my dad. Sometimes our dreams aren't exactly the way the universe will deliver. Having my brother walk me down the aisle was the way it was meant to be all along. My brother's humor, love and strength was everything I needed as we sat above and watched everyone that I love take their seats to be a part of the ceremony to join Chris and I together forever. Having my dad's mantra wrapped around my bouquet was the perfect way of him walking with me. Thank you to my dear friend Suha Stoner for such a precious gift.
If you know me … you know that I love a good theme. And my wedding had to have the theme of all themes. It had to be a triangle theme because they are the strongest of all the shapes. Chris built our triangle arch with so much care and love and I created the florals that were attached to unite both of our creative forces as a symbol of our love. We even got matching triangle tattoos the weeks before the wedding.
Our officiant Stan Doll wrote the perfect ceremony. He absolutely captured who we are and we are forever grateful for such a meaningful ceremony that evoked many laughs and a few tears. And a huge thank you to Joe Rivera Jr. for coming in to save the day and deliver Stan's words so eloquently and being such an important part of our big day with such grace.
My sister Rachel wrote a beautiful explanation of the triangle for our ceremony that perfectly explained the significance of the strength of the shape as a foundation for our marriage. I also wanted to include a biblical verse to reflect our Christian beliefs - my sister Kim picked a very fitting verse from the book of Ruth and wrote wonderful words to go along with the verse.
Writing our own vows was a must for me and I of course started my vows months in advanced that included lots of notes, an outline and a couple rough drafts before writing them into my vow book. Chris on the other hand was writing them in our hotel suite patio the morning of our wedding as I was getting my hair and make-up done. This is how we roll and how we balance each other -- and it only makes me a little crazy.
I am still on a high that I married my true love on April 20th. We are ALL IN and I absolutely loved every moment of our wedding ceremony.
F A M I L Y ... means so much to me and I will forever cherish these moments captured by the awesome @nicolecaldwellphoto . Each one of these loved ones have brought so much joy into our lives and we are so thankful they were all here to share our big day with us and walk down the aisle. We opted to just let our friends be guests for our wedding and no formal bridal party. We did have my niece Hannah as our beautiful flowergirl and my nephew Jack as our ringbearer dressed as a bear and roaring down the aisle.
R E C E P T I O N; the action or process of receiving something sent, given or inflicted.
We got the party started with a grand entrance with our flowergirl and ringbearer and some AC/DC of course. Led into a first dance that our little bear friend wanted to join.
The toasts were absolutely perfect ... Paul delivered a thoughtful and funny toast and thankfully he left out the roast material that would have made both of us hide under the sweetheart table. Then comes Jenny. When the screens started coming down I knew we were in for a treat but I had no idea she wrote and illustrated our very own children's book. So many laughs and tears and new nicknames too Foxatha, Turtlesan and Hannah Hare are here to stay. My brother Joe with his toast from the heart was everything. And the tribute to my Dad continued when Joe and I danced to a song very special to us, Shooting Star by Bad Company.
Then it was time to eat and a huge shout out to Seven-Degrees and our very talented Executive Chef Steve for making the most delicious comfort food buffet that i am still receiving the best compliments ... "Best meal ever!!" Who knew fried chicken, short ribs and biscuits would make so many happy. And the late night snacks of sliders, fries and chorizo quesadillas were the perfect timing while burning the calories on the dance floor. We ended the night with togo cups of coffee and fresh beignets.
Thank you to the lovely Tiffany Tsang with Seven-Degrees who was the best coordinator ever ... every detail (and there were a lot) were handled with such care and precision. I truly did not have one care or stress the entire day. Tiffany took care of everything.

I always love a good dance party. And our wedding was an epic dance party thanks to the very talented Ricky Hayes with Vox DJ's. I even had sparkle sneakers to make sure that I could dance all night … We had a blast dancing with everyone!!
The photo booth was so fun -- thank you so much Viral Booth OC for all the awesome photos.
And the best way to end it all with sparklers!! Thank you to each and every friend, family and talented vendor friend that all put together made this the best day of my life.
