7 Oct, 2018The story of our wedding
After 530 days of planning, with 400+ days of being on completely opposite work schedules and traveling overseas, our wedding was a day that was even better than expected! The men did a morning breakfast then got ready in Old Town Alexandria while the women had an army of beauticans, mimosas, and food to start the morning (shout-out to The Beautiful Dream Team!). The women did a first look with me all glammed up (which resulted in phenomenal pictures) then traveled via limo to Old Town. The limo then brought my future husband for a first look which created an abundance of happy tears, hugs, and laughs; because we were done with pictures early, we went to a local restaurant and had a private champagne toast before the cermony! The limo then brought us to the ceremony site where I felt some nerves and giddiness. I walked down that aisle at The Lyceum and saw no one but him. After almost tripping up the one step, zoning out for a hot second because I didn't think the ring would fit on him (which made me ask the pastor to repeat what I was suppose to repeat), and my husband thinking he blew out the unity candle when he didn't, we were married! While getting to hte reception was interesting (our transportation never showed up, causing the limo to take all our guests), we had a first-look of the reception; this caused me to cry, to see 530 days of work, tears, and sweat come from a vision to reality. We danced, ate, and drank the night away! We then left a sparkler exit and walked across the street to the hotel, a perfect way to end the night!
