24 Feb, 2019The story of our wedding
We had a small, intimate, outdoor affair. It was a destination wedding in AZ-we are from CO. Everything was beautiful!! Our theme colours were yellow and white-Sunflowers and White Roses. Although the sunflower is a fall flower, our florist was able to grow some especially for us. The whole wedding was a garden setting-the ceremony lead straight into the rehearsal. The ceremony was elegant and gorgeous-the rehearsal was fun and carefree. It was the most PERFECT day!!
If I had any advice, do not sweat the small stuff. The day goes by so fast and worrying about the little things just wastes time on that special day. We had very few hang-ups on an actual day. Our major difficulties happened in the days leading up to the wedding. Our 4 year old became really sick a few days before we flew out for the wedding, so we had to cancel flights and drive up there. After that, we had to quarantine in the hotel room until he started feeling better and we did too (started to catch his stick really close to the wedding). We had family drama, toddler drama and changeups all so close to the wedding. But during the actual day, everything went pretty perfectly. Or maybe we just did not notice the little things that did go wrong because we were so euphoric.
Continue reading »The aisle is the most euphoric time.....all the decor you plan, all the photos you want to pose for and all the guests you invite just become invisible during that walk down the aisle. Nothing else matters except for you and your significant other. It was pure bliss!! We had a foot washing ceremony before we stepped up to the altar, so we took our vows barefoot. We wrote our own vows and did communion.
The reception was an absolute blast!! Every one of my guests enjoyed it and some of my guests are pretty shy. They were mostly family with a select few friends. Our DJ was right on cue with everything. We did the bouquet toss, garden dance and toss, shoe game, money dance and everyone put aside all differences and had so much fun together.
We were the last ones to leave the party, as we cleaned up our own things (decor, bags, extra alcohol) and we did not want it to end. We both agreed that the entire day went by far too quickly and we wished we could relive it over and over. It was absolutely magical.
Best day ever and we will always remember it-as will everyone else!!
