27 May, 2023The story of our wedding
The proposal occurred on November 1st, 2021, on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. In a breathtaking gesture, Gary orchestrated a surprise proposal to Devon on their trip to Oahu, Hawaii, in celebration of Devon's 30th birthday. Arranging a helicopter ride from Turtle Bay Resort, they landed atop a scenic mountaintop. Amidst the awe-inspiring surroundings, Gary dropped to one knee and proposed, creating a moment of pure bliss and magic.
The wedding featured a captivating color scheme with cobalt/royal blue, ombre pink florals ranging from blush to fuchsia, and touches of gold. Careful consideration was given to balance the blues and pinks to avoid any resemblance to a "gender reveal party." By choosing vibrant royal/cobalt blue shades, the colors harmonized flawlessly, creating a striking and bold aesthetic.
The wedding design exuded a vibrant and lavish ambiance, blending elegance and romance. The goal was to craft a captivating garden fairytale ambiance that exuded opulence and regality.

What was your favorite moment? My father-in-law was our wedding officiant, and I loved every bit of his performance! There are truly so many cherished moments from our wedding, but another one does stand out vividly. During the ceremony, Gary's heartfelt vows moved me deeply. Overwhelmed with emotion (and keeping in mind that my love language is words of affirmation), Gary and I almost shared an impromptu kiss at the altar before the official cue. The gasps, awe, and laughter from the audience made it an unforgettable and joyous moment.
Your favorite crafted detail? My favorite crafted detail was undoubtedly the enchanting arbor under which we exchanged vows. It featured a rounded design adorned with cascading pink roses and peonies, beginning at the base of the aisle and flourishing upwards along the arbor. The flowers started with soft shades of pink and gradually intensified, complemented by the natural greens woven throughout.
What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? To all the brides-to-be, my advice is this: Embrace the stress of wedding planning because, without a doubt, it all becomes worth it on that special day. Don't sweat the small stuff and keep pushing forward because the joy and happiness you'll experience make every moment of planning, the blood, sweat, and tears, absolutely worthwhile.
