7 Aug, 2021The story of our wedding
We wanted our wedding to feel completely different than any we've been to and unique to us. One of our favorite movies is "Mean Girls" and we constantly applied a quote Amy Poehler says in the film to our wedding - "It's not a regular wedding. It's a cool wedding".
Palm Springs has always been a cornerstone of our relationship so we knew we wanted to get married there. We also knew we wanted the reception to be part typical dance party, part pool party. Finding a venue that was ok with that was challenging, but it also pushed us into more unique spaces (which is what we wanted to begin with). We found a spectacularly gorgeous estate in the middle of the desert on 5 acres of property with an incredible infinity pool along with a rooftop diving deck. We gave our thank you speech from that deck which culminated in us jumping into the pool with our suits on to kick off the pool party.
Since a pool party isn't exactly what most guests prepare for when going to a wedding, we provided beach totes as welcome bags along with custom Turkish beach towels and a pair of custom sunglasses from Goodr, designed exclusively for our wedding guests.

Because there were two grooms and no bride, we decided to reverse tradition and ask ALL of our guests to wear white while we (along with our wedding party) stood out by wearing shades of teal and pink.
We really wanted the tone of this not being your typical wedding set from the moment guests arrived. We welcomed them with alcoholic popsicles in champagne glasses, and our guest book was a custom (designed by Brock) cards against humanity style game, where guests could write their own funny or sweet prompts. Originally our wedding was supposed to be October of 2020, but obviously got postponed due to covid. We then moved it to April 2021 which got postponed again. This left us with August 7, 2021 as the only available date. Since August is incredibly hot in the desert, we designed our wedding programs as foldable paper fans to keep our guests comfortable.
We really wanted every single aspect of the wedding to be tailor-made to us. Thankfully we have incredibly talented friends and they did us the honor of recording a custom cover of "Stars are Blind" (original by Paris Hilton) for us to walk down the aisle to and a custom cover of "Shut up and Dance" (original by Walk The Moon) for our first dance. It was something extremely personal and touching for us that we'll never forget.
For dinner we had brick oven pizzas baked on site along with a crepe station, pasta and meatballs. For dessert, we flew in edible cookie dough from "DO" in NYC along with a wedding cake handmade and decorated by one of the grooms.
To really take the vibe up one last notch, we had champagne guns throughout the reception which led to some pretty epic photos. All in all, it was all we could have possibly imagined and was the best day of our lives.
