30 Sep, 2017The story of our wedding
Our whimsical and enchanting evening started with a ceremony among a hilltop with the Grand Mesa, West Elks, and Suan Juan mountain ranges cascading among our scenic Colorado backdrop.
The neighbor's barn provided a picturesque illuminated backdrop for our reception as we danced the night away to the local bluegrass band; Bluegrass Offenders, lights strung from end to end, as they pickin' away til the late hours of the evening.
Photographer, Jamie Hamm captured our moments amid the grape vineyard across the way prior to the ceremony, and captured laughs and tears provided from many of our family and friends. She also captured moments shortly after the bride and groom said I do, under a magical weeping willow near the barn.
We read our personally written vows aloud and ended the ceremony with a poem and Catalpa tree planting, celebrating nature and our outlook on marriage both as we dreamt of how wondrous it shall be.
Our floral designers and wedding planners at Irie Weddings & Events eased our worries as it poured rain an hour before the ceremony, making all details come together quite nicely and even left us a little surprise during the bride and groom down time. Our dazzling bridal party bouquets of vibrant colors against the green backdrop, brought out the ever-changing aspen leaves among the Grand Mesa backdrop quite nicely and lit up the barn with greenery and pops of bright color among each table. Patina & Co was gracious to decorate the barn with vintage decor to match the old wood around and to really bring out the shabby chicness of the venue. Our guests had so much fun in our 'shoot it yourself' Photo Booth, complete with fun props.
