The story of our wedding

Surrounded by a beautiful PNW forest and treehouses, our venue, Treehouse Point, gave us major storybook vibes. We chose our location because we met when we were four and climbed trees together; it seemed only fitting to begin our marriage the same way. We eloped with ten guests, so the experience was very intimate; we knew it would be an emotional day since we have known each other practically our whole lives. Eloping was the best choice for us. We wanted an intimate day without the pressures and confines of a traditional wedding. Richard and I had a first look, made it through tear-free, probably due to humor (butt grabs). However, the ceremony was so emotional. Richard started crying when I walked down the aisle to a Hozier song (we went to a concert when we started dating four years ago, and we both consider that the moment we fell in love, even if we didn't say it until later). We wrote our own vows, and Richard's were so very beautiful, I couldn't stop the waterworks. We danced up the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife because what better way to express pure joy than dancing! After a few minutes of just us, we invited our other guests to join us in a little dance party. We incorporated cairn building into our ceremony and all of our guests participated. We both really love to read, so we made sure to have some literary accents in our decor and favors, all vintage inspired. We had a blackout poetry activity for our guests to enjoy after the ceremony while we took pictures. Our photographer suggested bringing an extra bottle of bubbly for a photo-OP, and those pictures were really fun and looked Gatsby-ish. Our theme was vintage-bohemian with literary accents that we DIYed for a unique and personal touch. Our day was so blissful and lovely; I'm still daydreaming about it months later.
