16 Sep, 2023The story of our wedding
My wife Sandra and I come from diverse backgrounds, her being Korean-Canadian, and me being Chinese-American, and we wanted a wedding that showcased both our cultures. Our wedding was designed to be completely classic, elegant, and upscale with elements of our respective heritages. The overall color scheme was white and cream, with hints of blush and gold.
We chose The Briarcliff Manor as our venue for its classic architecture and intimate surroundings to welcome our 120 guests.
All our vendors were chosen to match our desired style and were among the best in their respective fields. We had classic and elegant touches, such as hiring Stellar Strings to provide live string music for our ceremony, and many cultural touches, like showcasing Korean food at our cocktail hour and hiring Chinese Lion Dancers from Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute in New York’s Chinatown to perform at our reception.
Our music was a millennial dream, mixing 90s/2000s hip hop and r&b, modern love ballads, K-pop, Afro-beats, and Latin songs to resonate with all of our guests.

Our guests had a truly amazing time at our wedding, which we couldn’t have planned without the help of WeddingWire!
