HOW WE MET
Nicole Williams and Vincent Sanders met Fall of 2010 during undergrad at North Carolina State University. While their recollection of the first time they laid eyes on each other differs, they agree on officially first speaking through the “Number Game” on Facebook. From there, their friends planned a movie night for them to meet in person; as they say, the rest is history!
PROPOSAL
Though Nicole and Vincent didn’t usually do much to celebrate their dating anniversary, Vincent decided that on year six, he would fly Nicole out to Dallas and plan a weekend filled with activities to celebrate their anniversary.
First Activity: Gondola Ride. During this private gondola ride as they sipped and listened to music, the gondolier asked Nicole to reach down to find a note within a glass bottle. WEDDING VISION
With the bride being from the DMV area, she wanted to find a way to incorporate her modern and elegant taste with the stately traditional feel that Washington, D.C. has. With the ceremony taking place at her home church, Zion Baptist Church, and the cocktail hour + reception at the Carnegie Institution of Washington, the simple colors of Black (40%) and White (60%) captured the elegance of a beautiful Fall evening in the city. To assist guests, the bride also made sure to provide a Color Palette to help inspire their wedding looks.
WEDDING DRESS
To go along with the “modern meets traditional” theme, the bride wanted the dress to simply focus on the clean and sleek qualities that a silk material would present. With a background in material science, she knew that a thicker quality silk with simple detail that accentuated her shape would be the perfect look. To add a meaningful touch and with the bride’s sister, Danielle Williams being a fashion designer, she created the accenting bow that graced the back of the dress to perfection.
